cc_star Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Confusing post Taft is our Eng U-18(or 19 I can't remember) LCB/LB http://www.lcfc.com/page/AcademyNewsArticle/0,,10274~2223002,00.html http://www.thefa.com/England/All-Teams/Players/T/George%20Taft If he's gone out on loan it will do him good Sven gave him a deal in March http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/leicester_city/9427621.stm One for the future
Jimmy Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 thought he was away at the U20 World Cup or something
Tielemans63 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Right. I go to Poppies home games when City are away. I'll update y'all on how he's doing once he starts doing er.. it.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 It might be obvious but who is he actually goin on loan to ?
Raw Dykes Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 It might be obvious but who is he actually goin on loan to ? Kettering apparently.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Kettering apparently. Oh ok thanks is he still 17?
bluearmyfox23 Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 If Taft is 17 I thought you could only be 18 If u go out on loan ?
John Matrix Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 thought he was away at the U20 World Cup or something we lost..he came back
Raw Dykes Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 If Taft is 17 I thought you could only be 18 If u go out on loan ? I think I know what you mean, but if FM is anything to go by, players can sign a pro contract on their 17th birthday, and that's when they can be loaned out.
ACF Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Seeing as he has signed a pro-contract, it's good to see the lad go out and get some experience.

Tielemans63 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 For anyone who's interested, I saw George Taft play for K Town against York on Tuesday night. He came on for the second half (Kettering were 1-4 down at H/T) and played pretty well. He looks good in the air and strong for a young lad (non-league strikers dont tend to take prisoners) but looked a little bit slow. He came on and played at right back although I assume he's really a centre back as he looks better suited to the centre than full back. The defence looked far better with him in it and only conceded one more goal and that was in the 94th minute.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Thts good to hear how did chambers get on ?
Tielemans63 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Thts good to hear how did chambers get on ? Looked very dangerous at that level. Poppies couldn't handle him first half. Funnily enough it was Taft's job to watch him when he came on and it was a good battle between the two.
