I feel I haven't said we should sign Jimmy Kebe for a long time (at least 4 or 5 days). It just seems so obvious.I know he's not a striker but he would complement one if Sven manages to sign someone so here goes...

Guy's I'm sorry for posting this clip but just in case anyone doesn't realise how absolutely brilliant he is.

Footnotes:

1: Fast forward to 1m 20s to see a couple of very scary runs.

2: If you are brave enough to watch the whole thing check out big Sol's forearm smash on Shane Long (which he doesn't seem to notice)

Sven said he was too inconsistent and, tbh, I partly agree with him. See his game against us last season, from the sublime to the ridiculous.

He's still miles better than any winger we've got at the moment though.

I absolutely take your point about inconsistency. we do seem to be struggling to get the ball out of midfield at the moment though. And he pissed all over us the other day.

Yeh very true, I'd have him here. Sven doesn't seem to know what a winger is though so I wouldn't hold your breath for Kebe, Gradel, etc.

Fed up with all this shit now. Nicky Maynard is my cousins boyfriend, they have just had a kid. He would have come before now, but she is reluctant to be seen as a wag, used to be a pharmacist before being a parent with Nick.

So she has her own mind and is wary of the position he will be put in, and by default, they will be put in. She has now seen a house in Rothley that she is happy with and with the local schools for the future. She was very happy with Portishead and took a long time to come around to the idea, however, she does realise that his career is very important to them all.

After a good few deep down moments with Nick, she has acknowledged that Leicester will be the best choice for now, she has some Family here, all be it not the closest, but family nonetheless and is prepared to make the leap.

It is not finalised by any means because he has said that if a premier league team come in for him, he will have to have a good long look, but being in the centre of the midlands will put him in good stead.

He will be here by Sunday, unless something outraegeous comes in , in the mean time....

Its their version of the Mercury, how often do they get things wrong :frusty:

If he's not available for the Southampton game if we do sign him its not the end of the world!

Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is doubtful he will bring in a new striker by the weekend.

Football operations director Andrew Neville indicated on Monday that the player could be in place by tomorrow.

"Something will have to happen very quickly, but I wouldn't think before Saturday," said Eriksson. "I am not that optimistic, but the work is going on silently."

The Mercury understands City are still weighing up a fourth bid for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, which could, with add-ons, be around the £6million mark.

But a source close to the West Country club said no formal offer had yet been received by the Robins.

Although the transfer window closes at midnight on Wednesday, Eriksson said City do not have to take any desperate measures to land their man.

"I don't think we should be desperately thinking that we need a new striker, but if it happens I will be happy as it means the squad is stronger," he said.

"I think our squad is good, as we showed for more than an hour at Nottingham Forest and then winning in the Carling Cup after making 10 changes."

Striker Martyn Waghorn is again unlikely to play a significant role in City's clash against Southampton at the King Power Stadium tomorrow after being granted his wish to leave by Eriksson and being omitted from the Carling Cup tie at Bury.

However, Waghorn has been buoyed by a surprise call-up to the England Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Israel next month.

England manager Stuart Pearce watched Waghorn, capped twice at under-19 level, in City's home defeat to Bristol City when he made an appearance off the bench.

He has been capped twice by England Under-19s and Eriksson said: "It is very good news for him. He has a happy face today.

"I feel sorry for him coming here and playing too little football. He has to do something in his professional life where he can play more football."

That could be a move to Derby County, whose manager Nigel Clough tried to lure him to Pride Park in the summer. But it is unlikely a move anywhere will happen by the weekend.

City are one of a clutch of Championship clubs also being linked with Barnsley striker Danny Haynes, but Tykes manager Keith Hill said: "I've not had one inquiry for Danny. I've just had a lot of speculation."

City will seek their first home win of the season against Southampton tomorrow.

The Saints have won their opening four Championship games and Eriksson said: "We will be meeting a very good team who are very good up front."
