Smlcfc Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Hi All, Found this pic online: http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad292/sports_supporters/AGOSTO%202011/DSCF1258Large.jpg The photo has the description 'Maglia Leicester 1990's'. Does anyone recognise this kit? I am collecting City shirts but have not come across this one before, nor do I remember a shirt being made by adidas? Also, there is no badge. Any comments appreciated. Cheers
Jace Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 na not a leicester shirt somebody has seen the walkers crisps and assumed it is
Zingari Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 it looks like something Spiderman would wear if he needed a change of strip http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Goalkeeper-Shirt-Adidas-M-1-Maglia-Leicester-/190567735531?pt=UK_Men_s_Vintage_Clothing&hash=item2c5eb8e0eb#ht_4047wt_932 get your bids in
Jace Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 maybe it is a prototype O'Neill designed for Zeljko Zalac to distract the opposition?
John Matrix Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 maybe it is a prototype O'Neill designed for Zeljko Zalac to distract the opposition? sounds legit
Raw Dykes Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Are there any other clubs that were sponsored by Walkers Crisps? I doubt it was ever worn by a Leicester goalkeeper - as you say, there's no club badge, and I don't think our kit sponsor has ever been Adidas. Maybe it was an amateur club or a youth side? I was going to say maybe it was just an Adidas football kit for no particular club, but then why would it have a sponsor on it?
rico Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 i feel sure i have seen a lower league side with Walkers on their shirts
JadeFalcon Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 at first glance i would have said Keller wore that shirt ?
Finnegan Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 at first glance i would have said Keller wore that shirt ? Narh we had Fox Leisure and not Adidas. And there's no City badge. And I could spot every keeper kit we had in the 90s 'cos I owned most of them. It's not ours.
gazfox9 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 thankfully it wasn't one of ours, thats bloody awful!!
jonthefox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Ive never seen it before, and by god in my time ive seen a few.
strattylcfc Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I'm pritty sure that was a England under 21 years old team years ago
dave the caveman Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I'm pritty sure that was a England under 21 years old team years ago I think it might have been a younger team, maybe England Schoolboys, as I don't think the U21s have ever had sponsored shirts. But I think you're on the right lines as the U21s was my first reaction as well. I'm sure I remember an England youth team with kits sponsored by Walkers. Edit: this could be the outfield kit: http://www.whtimes.co.uk/news/former_england_schoolboy_teams_up_again_with_giggs_and_barmby_1_33943?ot=archant.PrintFriendlyPageLayout.ot

Adidas kit, exactly the same era, exact same Walkers Crisps logo. Good work, Sherlock Holmes! Certainly more likely to be that than a Leicester kit, anyway.
