KIRBYFOX93 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Just been thinking about the way we have been playing, it is far too down the middle and direct and our full backs got stretched far too many time today... i think we should apply a 4-5-1 but 2 wingers who run at people. for example danns wide and maybe dyer. also they would have support from both left and right back... nugent upfront alone... Tbh im not 100% about beckford ??? however there have been no balls played for him to run onto all season!!! very worrying which could link the service... in January we need wingers kebe wants out at reading and maybe a young premiership winger. surely ones hovering about waiting for a loan??? thoughts??? TRUST IN SVEN UP THE BLUES

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 The playing style of teams today is big time shit!" Stop playing defensive shit, and put emphasise on ATTACK! Let the fans see the game it was always meant to be.
Haydos Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We won 4-0 last game, why didn't you mention it then?
acooling08 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We won 4-0 last game, why didn't you mention it then? Derby = Payed offensively = gaps in middle = our 4 central midfielders played well = win Brum = Played defensively = no gaps in middle = innefective central midfielders = needed wingers = lose
Tielemans63 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 The current formation is great when we take the lead and a fooking nightmare if we concede first. Sven's issue is he has to sort this out soon as at the moment there is no plan B which has been my beef since I paid £27.00 to sit through the Reading game. I support Sven for now but I do wonder if the guy has it in him to do something to change a game. I'm usually a pretty positive supporter but when we conceded that penalty, I turned to the my dad and said 'we're f****d now'. Brum just shut up shop and we didn't really come close to breaking them down. The most frustrating thing was that Birmingham were absolute f***ing dogshite and they still beat us. It had to be that **** King to score as well didn't it?!

My point was that we played the same formation (granted, not in the same style) yet he's chosen this week to tell us how he thinks it's shit despite us playing the same formation. Every week we play a different game, we're not Barcelona, just because we won playing a certain way one week it doesn't mean we can just replicate that every week and win. The players played poorly today, there seemed to be a different game plan and the midfield were a lot less dynamic, IMO the formation had little to do with the result.

It had to be that **** King to score as well didn't it?! Very much true. Though really everytime we go behind we look like we will not come back. I have said beforen that the formation may have been working ok but I'm not sure its the way forward, we are far too narrow. Put it this way, we have scored one goal in 4 away games now I think. Not good enough away from hime, too narrow making it hard to counter attack. Sven is well known for not having a plan B, Man City fans said this, and it was very evident with England.
Thracian Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We won 4-0 last game, why didn't you mention it then? That excellent result and performance only emphasised the benefits of being positive. But it didn't hide the negativity of our away performances all season. Even at Forest we stopped doing what put us 2-0 up and went all negative. If we don't change our philosophy - and if we don't get the players to faciliate change - we won't succeed in our aims. It is no use having non-specialists anywhere. Building a football team is about putting effect into every position. We don't do that. Haven't done for years.
