ivarti Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 City have appointed Nigel Pearson as the new manager of Leicester City. Nigel did a great job at City the last time he was at the club, and he will definately be able to get the team competetive. He is a very different type than Sven and his style suits The Championship. The problem for City at the moment is to build an identity and be able to get a plattform to build from. Pearson is now in charge and hopefully owners will not take the axe forward again if the team inherited by Sven is not able to get us into the Premier League after this season. I hope that Perason will get the time needed and the cash needed to build on what he himself and Sven has done in the past and hopefully in the short term future, either this or next season, will be able to get City promoted.. But without patience from Top, and buying players for inflated fees is not the way forward. It's back to another world with NP, but hopefully that world is better than the Sven World.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 I feel hugely optimistic for the future of the football club. My main reasons for this are twofold.. Firstly, I think that Top and the gang appear to have actually listened to those advising them, in terms of getting rid of an image maker and replacing him with someone with grassroots experience at this level. Secondly, because Pearson is a solid bloke. There's no nonsense or messing about with him. He seems to command a genuine respect from his players. Yes, sometimes his football isn't dynamic, but it's usually exciting and productive. He also rejoins the football club with his own, established backroom team. In this way, the management at City has finally become a proper team of people, rooting for and backing up each other. In this way any dressing room disquiet can be quickly dispelled and the team can move on. The difference for me is simple. Success under Sven would IMO have been IN SPITE of Sven, not because of him. Under Nigel any success we gain will be founded upon his management ability. At least in my opinion anyway. I'm very positive for the future.
hackneyfox Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 He hasn't signed a winger yet and we've still to score a goal under him. Pearson OUT!!!!

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 He hasn't signed a winger yet and we've still to score a goal under him. Pearson OUT!!!! Hmm. Any bets on how long that will be? I hope Top and his board have some patience. Although I did not want DOG here, it is only fair that he is given more time than Sven was, Cheque books buy the players, but a manager, whoever he is, needs backing by his employers, and time to mould a constructive and effective side. Now I am off back to my corner, to
woznotwos Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Solid at the back though... you two kill it !!
