What pubs will have a good away following in? I've heard about the county ground and will probably end up there, but are there any others about on the way to the ground from the train station?

Yeah that's what i'm trying to find out

Well considering that's where they would likely escort you to anyway you shouldn't have a problem.

Visiting supporters travelling to Nottingham for Saturday’s FA Cup third round match at the City Ground are being urged to go directly to the venue as soon as possible.

Leicester City fans will be able to enter the Nottingham Forest stadium from 1.30pm, a full 90 minutes before kick-off. Once at the ground, supporters can buy refreshments.

As an alternative, Notts County are also opening up their newly-refurbished Sports Bar at their nearby Meadow Lane stadium from 10am, and Foxes fans can go there to buy a pre-match meal and drink.

However, pubs between Nottingham railway station and the stadiums will not be admitting fans before the game, and will be closed after the final whistle.

Other visitors to Nottingham are also being reminded that because of the high-profile fixture, Nottingham railway station is likely to be extremely busy throughout the day.

Match commander for the fixture, Supt Mark Holland said: “A local derby is always a great occasion and when a cup run is at stake then that can only increase the level of interest in the fixture.

“Clearly, we want supporters of both clubs to enjoy a trouble-free day and we will, obviously, be closely monitoring the behaviour of fans before, during and after the game.

“Our advice to Leicester fans is that pubs in the vicinity of the station and the City Ground will not be admitting them or serving them on the day. But food and drink is available in the stadiums, so there will be somewhere to congregate, eat and socialise before kick off

“Nottingham Forest are ensuring that the Leicester fans can get in the ground at the earliest opportunity, while Notts County have extended an invitation to visiting supporters to enjoy their facilities, even though the Magpies clearly have no direct involvement in Saturday’s tie. We are very grateful to Notts for that.”

Leicester fans are also being advised that at the end of the game they will not be able to exit the City Ground along Trent Side, but will be given clear guidance as to the alternative routes they should take.

The police will check ID and see which area you are from. I live in Nottingham now and they have done this before. Best bet is to get to waterfront no later than 11, head to Hooters and then to Meadow lane. Tequila on the hour! Lets take over

5 of us on the 10 30 train.

All this talk about hooters is pointless as it is going to be shut?! Only place to drink is Nott's County ground, and there is indication that they are even selling alcohol!

Why would it be shut? It's been open every other away game.

If it's anything like past times it will take you that long to get seved

I got served twice pretty quickly there just before kick-off last time round when we had 4000. Guess 8000 might pose more of a problem but shall just have to get prepared for a scrum...
