iamafox Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 We should never be excited about winning corners anymore.
I am Rod Hull Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 We should never be excited about winning corners anymore. I dont even get excited when we go 1-0 up anymore....
JmorsonLCFC Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 gallagher = shit everyone says 'oh he can whip a ball in' he can't and we rarely score from his crosses. he can't beat a man. he can't tackle. he can't head the ball. why is he on the pitch

Churchill Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Did anyone see Bellamys corner for Liverpool yesterday? Thats how a corner should be taken, whipped in with pace then if no one gets there head on it then it could quite easily go in off the opposition.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Its like we dont even practice, they are that bad. Cant be hard to get good routines.
bmt Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Might get slaughtered for saying this but Gallagher's set pieces are woeful, his delivery is so much better under pressure
The Doctor Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Sheehan was our best corner kick and free-kick specialist in recent seasons by a distance and that's the sort of deliveries we need. Fast, spinning wickedly and always into places that are likely to hurt the opposition. We do have players to exploit decent corners if we can somehow instil some attyitude into them. There needs to be more movement and they need to move in from deeper which will have the effect of spreading the defenders slightly. And variety is paramount. No two corners or free kicks should be the same. Defenders have to be kept guessing. But our coaching staff really should know all this. Oh **** off with Sheehan - I had hoped that had finally gone. He was a crap defender, not that great going forward either and despite the hype at the time with regards to his set-pieces I only remember 1 or 2 doing anything of note. gallagher = shit everyone says 'oh he can whip a ball in' he can't and we rarely score from his crosses. he can't beat a man. he can't tackle. he can't head the ball. why is he on the pitch Because he's actually a decent player at this level, The more important question is why do we play him out of position so frequently?
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 On Radio Leicester tonight, Pearson basically said that Gallys deliveries are amongst the best in the division... So I don't think he's gonna be dropped at present...
wellyfox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 If we move the corner flag to the peno spot would it help :crylaugh:

MattyFromLE Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 Why are they floated in? Watch any premiership level team and they ping the ball in with such pace that if it clips someones backside it may just go in. Floated delivery makes it even harder for someone like Mills and Bamba to get real power behind the ball.
