ithuriel Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Apparently before the last home match a girl was run down on the crossing near the shop's on the Saffron lane, i missed it but my mate went by and said some girl was trapped under a car there. Never saw anything in the Mercury about this and have wondered if the girl was alright, i spoke to the local hair dresser but all he knew was what i had already had been told. Friday 16th at around midnight on the way home from work me and the lad who was giving me a lift home passed a car crash and the driver must have been going some, where all the vehicles normally park before a match a silver car had swerved across the road, sliced a tree off at the base of the trunk, flew up the embankment, gouged another tree and then sliced another tree in two on the way back down the embankment. Today there was a police speed camera van on the lane at this point so i would not be surprised if they cracked down along this stretch of road now.

The speed camera there is a regular thing and has been for years. Seen a few accidents after matches when cars have pulled out having been parked in the Bus Lane and been smashed in to.
danny. Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 About a year ago a women along there near the shops (kitchen/bike/model) went up the curb onto the pavement and killed some people too. The debris from the car that crashed on Friday is still there and the tree lying there, unrooted with a big gouge out the embankment grass. Dodgy stretch of road.

I don't think it's a particular dodgy stretch of road - more the fact that a lot of people that drive down their seem to think they can go as fast as they like.

It's she the one who was 'possessed' and was racing away from the devil?

jonthefox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 It's she the one who was 'possessed' and was racing away from the devil? she was sent to my wifes ward. Totally hatstand by all accounts.
ithuriel Posted 19 December 2011 Author Posted 19 December 2011 Well who ever was driving on friday, if they survived that crash would certainly have killed anyone they hit i can tell you after seeing those tree's and what was left of the car. It was a damn lucky thing no one was walking that stretch of road and even at that time of night on a friday there are plenty that do.
