LCFC_Kraken Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Kasper Peltier Mills Tunchev Konch Gally Abe Fernandes Dyer Howard Beckford Subs: Weale Bamba Nugent Danns Schlupp
acooling08 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 I want: Kasper Peltier St Ledger Mills Konchesky Abe Fernandes Danns Gallagher Nugent Schlupp It will probably be: Kasper Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Dyer Wellens King Gallagher Nugent Beckford Ross, why leave put Peltier? Pantsil has been poor so far.
Ashley Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Schmeichel Peltier Mills Tunchev KoncheskyBamba AbeDanns King BeckfordNugent Beckford looks dangerous coming in from the left, he kept drifting out there against Ipswich then again he was never getting any service down the middle. This formation will probably never happen but its something I would like to see. No doubt Wellens will be starting.. Again.

Pantsil has been poor so far. Being as we have been crap and struggled with 11 men, why do you only want 10 in your team? New tactics where we play them off the pitch for 60 mins then when they are knackered we go to full strength?

Pantsil has been poor so far. I just don't rate Peltier. Fair enough he's came from league 1 and had a great start but he's going down hill. Offers nothing going forward just a shocking ball into the box and a long throw that never reaches anybody. He slows the game down with his constant turning and passing back, his positional awareness is atrocious always his man free in the box. I would just like to see Panstil have a go, Peltiers just average for me and out of form.
ithuriel Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Pantsil scares me, from what i saw of him earlier in the season he was slow, ponderous in decision making and got caught on the ball in dangerous areas too many times. Sven dropped him and Pearson obviously rate's Peltier more too. Peltier has been fine for me, even put one beautiful ball right across the face of Ipswich goal that needed only a touch which the three player's in the box missed. Shame though since Pantsil did those lap's congratulating the supporter's.

Mack Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Can any of the numerous people who have suggested Bamba should be dropped explain to me why?
marbelladave Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Can any of the numerous people who have suggested Bamba should be dropped explain to me why? There is a view in some quarters that his play is erratic and difficult to read, making it very difficult for his partners to know what is going on and leading to a lack of organisation and understanding across the whole back 4...... Don't actually agree with this myself, though our organisation does not seem to be improving, even under NFP.
Thracian Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Kasper, Tunchev, Bamba, Konchesky; Fernandes, Abe, Gallagher, King, Beckford, Nugent, Schlupp. Subs: Mills, Danns, Dyer, Peltier, Moussa.

acooling08 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Can any of the numerous people who have suggested Bamba should be dropped explain to me why? He cost us the goal against Ipswich by inexplicably letting the ball drop right in front of him. Also recently he hasn't been as dominant in the air as he was before. E.g. Sharps first goal a few weeks ago.

Don't actually agree with this myself, though our organisation does not seem to be improving, even under NFP. The only person I have heard spout that bollocks was Alan Young on the way home the other night. Bamba was the only one to try and get something going against Ipswich, in fact at one point he was playing defence and midfield and doing it better than King and Mills put together. In my opinion if you want to point the finger at a frailty at the back look no further than Matt Mills. He may have cost a lot of dosh but to suggest his performances are the fault of Bamba is a joke. Mills has struggled to live up to his overinflated price tag, has made numerous mistakes, been sent off twice and passed the ball worse than anyone who has played in defence for us this season. In addition for me his attitude is suspect when as club captain and serving a ban because of a dodgy tackle he went on a jolly up in London rather than travel with the team and give them his support. He has played with St Ledger at the back for us this term also and showed no sign of an improved performance in the absence of Bamba. Bamba also often gets his head on corners (something I have never seen Mills do once) and even though he has not put one in he is consistently on the end of them trying his best.
Bettsj2 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 What i'd like: - Kasper Pelts Mills Tunchev Konch Bamba Danns Fernandes Gallagher Beckford Nugent What we'll no doubt get: - Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Konch Gallagher King Wellens Dyer Nugent Beckford

I think you will find Abe's wayward passing put our defence under unnecessary pressure and from the tiny clip I saw on sky it was Mills not Bamba who let it bounce.

dpjfox Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 i agree with Betts ie bring in Tunch to marshall defence, let Bamba provide some muscle in midfield, Fernaddes some mobilty and decent forward passes, no doubt NP wont gamble or give fringe players a chance, if the strikers get some decent service i can see us winning this one 3-1
broughtonblue Posted 28 December 2011 Author Posted 28 December 2011 [/b] You should watch the clip again mate. Definitely bamba, he just watched it fall and made absolutely no attempt to get anything on it.
Mack Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 [/b] You should watch the clip again mate. Even Stringer and Young said it on the radio after the game. Apparently Mills "Was trying to be clever."
Mack Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Definitely bamba, he just watched it fall and made absolutely no attempt to get anything on it. I've just watched it on BBC and it's Abe and Bamba that are both leaving it for each other, my mistake. Sitting in the family stand I could not see a thing.
broughtonblue Posted 28 December 2011 Author Posted 28 December 2011 Can any of the numerous people who have suggested Bamba should be dropped explain to me why? Cost us the goal against Ipswich, people rave about him when he pushes forward, but two points on this, 1- he is in the team in defence, this means his first objective should be to defend, and I think we have better central defenders at the club. 2- when he does go on one of his forrays up the pitch, he doesn't seem to have the ball under control a lot of the time, indeed against Ipswich in the 2nd half he ran from our box to the middle of their half but in that space the ball bounced off 2 of their players and back to him before he finally lost it. Thought the match at home a few weeks ago when mills and St ledger were the partnership they defended brilliantly individually and as a partnership, give them 3 or 4 matches together and I think they could give us a solid base on which to build.
James18 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Gonna go ahead and mix it up a little. 4-3-3 with Bamba playing midfield. Really think he could do a job here. It's obviously not going to happen, but we need to try something to get our midfield going. For a defender he makes quite a few runs upfield and he does make some bad/risky decisions sometimes which can cause trouble. In midfield, he doesn't have to run all the way back to defence after a big run, plus if he makes a mistake he has players behind him. Kasper Peltier - Mills - St Ledger - Koncheskey King - Bamba - Wellens Schlupp - Beckford - Nugent
