adamrwood Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 With waggy due back tomorrow i am thinking he could be the player we need who can play alongside nuge. We could play Waggy just behind him. He has great strength and he wants to play for us, which not many seem to nowadays. He also has a good long range shot. Don't know if he's fit again yet though after getting injured? Still would be nice to get another decent forward but waggy will certainly give Nige another option until that happens in my view

adamrwood Posted 31 December 2011 Author Posted 31 December 2011 Well, he has power in his shots haha
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Well, he has power in his shots haha I agree with you on giving him another chance. As many have said, Jan is going to be a crucial month in our season. Like most good managers, Pearson needs to surround himself with his 'allies' (not HIS 'favourites', but those that 'favour him') I think this is what he is doing... the manager must have a right to manage, which begins with either getting the dissenters on board, or binning them.. no mess, no nonsense, gone..... I reckon this is what he is doing
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Wellens would somehow muck it up. Fat donkey

Team spirit is what can make an average team into promotion candidates or a good team into relegation fodder, which is where we will go unless this action is taken now. 2 points from 4 games in december against no more than average teams is shocking. Maybe the players will dig out a win today with the knowledge that something is going to be done about the moaners. In Nige we trust!!
MikeyT Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 As long as Waghorn doesn't take ANY set pieces I'm all for giving him a go at the moment.

Exactly..this is why Sunderland will most probably start rising up the Premiership.. Even Bendtner will start scoring goals :xmasdry: The problem at City is that the team spirit appears to be low at the moment.. its gonna take some sorting this one, without a doubt. Don't expect miracles in January... I reckon we'll have a 'good run' come about Feb/March..and by then it may be too late.

Due to the confidence sucking ego maniac at the center of our midfield......... Naturally............ Ah well, time I was on the road, cheap ticket so I might as well.......
Jollie Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 last time he played at the KP he attempted to control the ball on his chest and it went about 20 feet in front of him...Schlupp please, get to the back of the queue Waghorn.

lovelcfc Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I like waggy beacuse he works hard all gives his all but sometimes he is so poor his shots a awful sometimes and his passing aint great

Haha. I like Waggy, and I really hope he gets a run in the team to try and prove himself. Since pearson he's not been played in his natural position, and pearson always seems to get the best out of him. Many will say he's shit, and overrated and that he's had his day and we should move him on, I still think he's got the potential its just as long as he wants to fulfil it.
The Doctor Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 No. Headless chicken running, crap finishing and even worse set-pieces.
ithuriel Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Waggy is good for the role Nugent currently plays, fetching the ball, holding it and taking on defender's. He is a good squad player with a good attitude. Problem is that he is carrying an injury is'nt he?

That's 20 feet less than when beckford chests it ;-). Schlupp still a little green for me. Send him on loan for 3 months then come back for the last months push with confidence.
paulsherwood1 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Mr Al Snrub is spot on!!! Can't control, wayward shooting, gets pushed off the ball too easily and the positional sense of a blind donkey. Why oh why do people persist with the " waghorn is our saviour " rubbish! I'm surprised someone hasn't got a tv channel in the USA dedicated to his amazing powers!!!! The only reason people like waghorn is they have a song they like about him. Brilliant!
accessory Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 No. Headless chicken running, crap finishing and even worse set-pieces. Cos Gally has been so much better at these, hasn't he? Waggy's done well under Pearson, both here and at Hull. There's every chance that, once he is restored to fitness and confidence, he can do so again.

He has on occasion put a decent ball into the box, one that we've scored from - far more than Waghorn has ever done or, most likely, will ever do.
MattyFromLE Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 When did Waghorn do well at Hull? Remind me. Was he not injured after 1/2 games?
sharpie Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 please please no to waggy, dont want him to play
