LcFc_Smiv Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 January's a terrible time for transfers, the players that are good enough to sign for us, their respective clubs want to keep, the players that clubs are willing to let go more than likely won't be able to do the job for us. For me January's only useful if you want to bring in loans from the Prem, by this point in the season managers have a good idea who's going to be involved and who's not, what youngster can benefit from going out on loan, which player may well be limited to playing time and may as well start looking for a new team for the summer window.

We also made the mistake of waiting til the summer before buying a whole new starting 11. Obviously we don't just want to get anyone but we must get players in now or we've already given up on this season.

So I would rather Start for real in the summer big clear out and get players we really want. Also players that want to be with us and not just cos we pay silly fvcking money in jan.

However, I would also add that if we don't, I cannot see this squad making the play offs to be honest. If we really struggle to get a couple of good lads in we may , realistically, have to kiss this season good bye and start again in the summer. If so, what a dramatic under achievement we would be witnessing. I guess we'll see

And as I have said elswhere on here to go up. We need 6 teams to pick up less points than we do. Some of them have to drop four or five points more than we do just to get us the last P/O spot. Oh and before the smart arses mention it 5pts means it won;t go on goal diff. And we still don't have a propper squad yet. All we hear about is Sharp Yet everyone on here has said we need a CM and 2 wingers. Would rather we could see us looking at players we need and have needed all season than another player in a position we have players in.

Rushing in is one of the worst things to do when signing a player, we don't need Nigel and his staff to panic and just buy player B because player A couldn't be brought in.
