Scow Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 TeamTalk Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is running the rule over former Leicester winger Keith Gillespie. The 32-year-old Northern Ireland international has been invited by the Elland Road chief for a trial and he hooked up with the rest of the squad for the first day of training on Thursday. Blackwell is keen to strengthen the right side of midfield whilst also adding some more experience to the squad and Gillespie would fit the bill on both accounts. Not from a great source, but I'm surprised they're interested in him after purchasing Steve Stone. I don't think Blackwell knows what he's doing. He just seems to buy players for the sake of it. (Before anyone mentions it, it's Leicester City related)
Ric Flair Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Blackwell is the new Barry Fry, he just loves transfers. Why doesn't he go and buy himself some of those crap fake tattoo's you get free with bubblegum on holiday? It will save him some money
Katy Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Bless hes like a Peter Taylor in a footballing sweet shop, its his first proper managers job though so hes probably getting over excited with the whole thing.
Shum Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Seems strange that they are wanting him after signing Stevie Stone. Seems like none of our released players have really sorted themselves out properly. Walker, Dabizas, Gillespie etc.
Janx Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 hes well liked up here, a load of my "mates" have asked me aboutmhim even before this rumour came about and they couldnt understand why he was so shite in the first season with us.... to be honest he was only half decent in one season and that was the last one.
Durnerz Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Takes the right manager to bring the best out of him. Sadly I dont think Blackwell is that man, he sounds like he's been to the MA school of transfers.
Ricey Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 keep gillespie... inconsistent but with some form he IS a good player 130579[/snapback] He has already gone!
Hullfox Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 He definitely trained with them on Thursday, a Dirty Leeds ST Holder saw him. If he plays against us next year, Maybury should mark him. Guaranteed he'll get himself sent off.
Nationwider Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Leeds' squad is going to be frickin' enormous at this rate. Pity they'll all be average has-beens. Blackwell = the new MA??? No wonder Ken Bates wants out already!
