Mark Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 If you're annoyed by him going, fair play, but I doubt CL would let him go if he didn't have someone else, and someone better, close to signing. So try not to be so peeved off, I liked him, but am not too disappoined in him going, good luck to him for the future. 130588 There are not many players that that can perform better at left back defensively than Jordan. FACT.
Libertine Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 One of the best left backs in this division Please please please tell me you were joking......... Bye bye Jordan, make sure you don't bang your big head on the way out......... 130589 Agreed, there are a lot better and more consistent IMO.
Bluefoxtim Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 whaaaaa.... http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~680184,00.html the fee could RISE to 125k! so we probably only got about 50k! tut tut

City Fan Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 On the OS, it says that we tried to sign Mo Camera but he went to Celtic!!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 July 2005 Author Posted 1 July 2005 One of the best left backs in this division Please please please tell me you were joking......... Bye bye Jordan, make sure you don't bang your big head on the way out......... 130589 Agreed, there are a lot better and more consistent IMO. 130592 Who are these then, that are available.. 130595 Firstly, he's not one of the best left-backs in the division. He hasn't really got a position because he can't defend and he can't attack. That's why wing-back would suit him, because he wouldn't be the last line of defence or the main attacking threat, he'd just be there, a bit like Tiatto really. I think Levein has seen this and wants players who are actually good in their positions. Stewart isn't a left-back by trade, he just ended up there. He's never been a defensive player, yet he's wasted further up the field because he can't really seem to pass, cross or shoot. But he's quick, so he gets in the team. Good riddance, if we get someone as good as Maybury to play at left-back (which isn't a ridiculous notion, as Maybury wasn't expensive or anything), then you'll see just how useless Stewart was at left-back.
Libertine Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Says on the OS that he's 75% certain on two centre backs...hmmmm. And Mo Camara... Is he any good?

Shum Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 I have faith in CL. He has brought in Alan Maybury who is the best right back we have had in years! So hopefully the he will bring in someone of a similar quality for left back.
Gené and Tonic Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 It's nice to see things going on behind the scenes. At least we can be confident we've got new signings lined up.
Libertine Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Yep, apparently there's a lot going on behind the scenes! Wish we could bloody know about it.
marko Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Wwhy are people concerened about only getting 125k, we got hughes for 100k (possibly rising to 200k) and i think Paddy was in the region of 100k, good business by Craig in my opinion
Little Nicky Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Shit, absolute shite. Well done to the Chavs in L1, you're a disgrace. One of the best left backs in this division has left for at the most £125,000. This is a bigger rip off than the Dickov deal to Blackburn. Pissed off, at the fans and Craig Levein. He was treated so bad for whatever reasons, he performed consistantly well at left back last season. Now theres not a lot of talent remaining is there, Hughes? What else we got that can offer that something different? No one. Premiership dream over the way things are going. 130580 Bloody well said Mr C, utter cocks e lot of you who got on Jordan's back!I don't care how much of a big head he is, he was still in my opinion our best crosser of the ball on the left! No speed now at all, I look forward to Titheado and Wilcox forming a great link up And #### £125k, what a flaming outrage, I would have laughed at anything less than £250k! A big loss, i just hope we don't go out and signsodding Laursen now, that pee me off something rotten!
Shum Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Our best crosser? Out of 10, he would probably get one past the first defender, 2 at a push!
Libertine Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 I highly doubt we will have Wilcox and Tiatto on the left next season mate, and Jordan was probably our worst crosser of the ball.
City Fan Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Im suprised we managed to get more than a tenner for him...........
Libertine Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 And I also doubt it was any of us who moaned at him or slagged him off during matches, it certainly wasn't me anyway.

The only saving grace he had was pace. Technically he is very poor, if he's just got pace he should be a sprinter or some other athelite, not a professional footballer, if his bad attitude causes negative effect on the side then I can see Leveins reasoning behind this. I wonder how many will be complaining if and/or when we bring in a left back capable of playing in a higher division as Jordan Stewart cannot perform higher than this level.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Good news in my opinion. It's not a lot of money, but also in my opinion he isnt really worth a lot. He has been great on occassion, but lacks any kind of good consistency. More often than not he has been quite awful and if you ask me he is one of those players that plays for the money rather than the enjoyment of the game. Plus I can't see how that loose shoulder of his is ever going to clear up.
Little Nicky Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Seeing as though he was the only person employed on the left I feel I'm perfectly justified in saying he was the best crosser on the left, Tiatto who can only use his left foot was never out there. Granted he was woeful at times, and his set pieces were frankly outrageous, but I'm not best pleased we've let him go for that amount of money, he's 23 we should be commanding a better fee for a young first team regular! Tell ya what I won't miss them free kicks though
PRIOR09 Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 GREAT news, get rid of him because he is a waste of space and only cares about wearin his rap star tracksuits. Worst crosser of the ball we have, apart from douglas, buttat would still be a close competiton. Over the moon that he has gone because it may give stearman or sheehan a chance at left back?
Shum Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 We paid 100k for Hughes, and I think he is class compared to Stewart. So to get 125k with the current climate in the transfer market makes good sense to me. From OS.. Jordan Stewart has today left Leicester City to join Watford. The 23-year-old has made the move to the Hornets for a fee that could rise to £125,000. Stewart, who has been employed in a variety of positions since joining the Foxes from Aston Villa in his youth, made 127 appearances for City during his six-year stint at the club. The former England under-21 international has signed a three-year contract at Vicarage Road and will already be looking forward to facing his now former side at his new home in October. Speaking from the club's Loughborough University based training camp, City boss Craig Levein revealed that it was certainly a busy time on the transfer front. He said: "There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes at the moment with regard to players coming in and players going out. "I would imagine that this time next week things will have settled down a bit. I think by then we would have had two or three out and two or three in. "We are getting there. We have got a couple of lads on trial at the moment who we are keen on having a look at. "We have also got two possibilities at centre-back and hopefully they will both work out in our favour. I am about 75 per cent confident on both of them, although I have been involved in football for long enough to know that anything can happen. "I am still looking. The fact that Jordan has left means that the left back position becomes another priority. I had hoped to sign Mo Camara but he chose to go to Celtic. He would have been a good player for us. But we have a number of other players in mind for that position though."
Gené and Tonic Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 this is quite exciting, although you can predict the ins and outs: Ins: Kenton, Laurson, A striker Outs: Heath, Wright, Canero
