The Republic of Ireland international was placed on the transfer list by Pearson after the two had a fall-out when St Ledger was left out for the Boxing Day game against Ipswich Town. St Ledger was set to join the Tractor Boys until Sol Bamba's departure to the African Cup of Nations left City short of defensive cover. City have had two bids for Nottingham Forest's Wes Morgan rejected, but St Ledger's excellent form recently has impressed Pearson, and he has been planning for the future with the 27-year-old. Pearson also said there had been no personal problem between him and the centre-back. "I thought he played very, very well," said Pearson after Monday's 2-0 Championship win at Southampton. "I do nothing but look forward with him. He is one of our players and what has happened has happened. "He is playing very well. I will have a chat with him. We have been on good terms anyway. It is not as if there has been anything sinister going on." St Ledger joined City from Preston in July on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £750,000, but has struggled to break up the partnership of Matt Mills and Bamba. However, he returned to the side for the 4-0 win over Forest and was again impressive in the victory over the Saints.
