Guest parky0607 Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I thought our back 4 were absolutely spot on today and for the first time I felt like we'd finally found the perfect balance and combination. Morgan is strong and pacey whilst St Ledger is a good tackler and header of the ball. The 2 wide defenders were also very good, kennedy a little shaky but both konchesky and kennedy can fill this role fine. Same back 4 next game... now we need to find the best midfield combinatiobn...
cc_star Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Shame we have Konch, Kennedy & Taft all in the same position, we could do with that strength in depth elsewhere Was impressed with Morgan, MotM for me... Done way more than enough to hold his place too. Too soon to talk about whether it will last or not, but Norwich are an excellent side who've caused Prem teams a lot of bother (yes they made 4 changes, but so did we) and we coped excellently and apart from one run & shot by Hoolahan never looked in bother at all
THEFATBASTARD Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Funny thing is ,a lot of people said morgan was a donkey and a waste of money..strange.
Aylestone Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Funny thing is ,a lot of people said morgan was a donkey and a waste of money..strange. He's had one game and wasnt that great in my opinion,...he will **** up and become a scapegoat on here,..they all do at some point wether warranted or not..!!
Ian W LCFC Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I think Morgan is a brilliant Championship defender
Captain... Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Funny thing is ,a lot of people said morgan was a donkey and a waste of money..strange. I don't remember many people calling him a Donkey, but it did seem a strange purchase to buy a centre back when we already had 4, 3 of which were internationals and one was club captain. I also think it is a little early to call it the perfect combination, they looked good against a jumped up championship side's second string attack. Now if they had kept someone like Holt quiet all game then there would be more reason to believe we had found the right combination. They still had chances and caused us problems from corners so it was not perfection, but I think it would be good to give them a run together, the league is all but over so lets give them a chance to bed in and see if they can be the solid centreback partnership we start next season with. But you never know Bamba and Morgan could be immense, and at some point should get a few games together maybe with SSL at RB.
Saxondale Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 A few games ago we thought we'd found the best combination in Mills and St Ledger. It's nice to have the options I suppose. One thing's clear in my mind - that the best combinations don't include Bamba.
Corky Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Funny thing is ,a lot of people said morgan was a donkey and a waste of money..strange. I wasn't overwhelmed with the signing but have given him a chance. Impressed so far.

Captain... Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 you must have a bad memory or amnesia..your right though , norwich are shite, only 8th in the premier. I didn't say they were shite, I said they were a jumped up championship side, i.e. not a well established prem team, they have done very well for themselves so far this season as have Swansea, as did Blackpool and Burnley before them. Doesn't make them all of a sudden a massive club and they were resting a number of players today.
Haydos Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 One game. They were faultless today but c'maaaaaan!
davieG Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Two goal scoring CB, that makes a change. SSL has looked like our only player likely to score from a corner for that few games.
