LCFC FOX Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Haha, I think I know which one you mean, if I could be arsed I could make it a proper where's Wally and hide other objects such as Jobber's drum, Filbert Fox, the FA cup, Bernie, Mandaric's bung, but I can't. On a serious note is there still no news on Bamba? Think you should make a thread on its own for it would be quite enjoyable
FrankieADZ Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 His mrs defo lives in Melton i cant think of a classy part of melton
GLC Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 He was out in Melton just before chhristmas, His car was parked outside the Lion pub
lcfcbaby Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 So Bamba is finally back according to Pearson! There is no way he's gonna get into the starting 11 on Thursday!
jonlcfc1990 Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 So Bamba is finally back according to Pearson! There is no way he's gonna get into the starting 11 on Thursday! Who knows? With the FA Cup now lasting longer and fixtures being chopped and changed games will come thick and fast might choose to give SSL a rest and Morgan. I think it's really good how NP has worked to get us 4 quality CB's
Guest Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Bamba is still the best CD we have. Moran and Bamba is a scary prospect at both ends of the pitch.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Met him last night in Republic, top bloke, having photos with all the lads and the females were all over him. What a legend, don't think he had a drink either from what I saw.

Guest Col city fan Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Bamba is still the best CD we have. Moran and Bamba is a scary prospect at both ends of the pitch. No he isn't. He's a good player but I'd stick with the current two
Guest Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 He's too risky for my liking, he isn't out best CB, that's St. Ledger IMO I'm pretty sure that it was SSL who made that terrible back pass resulting in the peno. SSL is not as good as Bamba or Morgan IMO. It amazes me how many people dislike Bamba because he has what other defenders don't. Ball skills. He can do things that no other players do. Sure he'll occasionally make a mistake, show me a defender who doesn't. All three do seem a threat from dead ball plays which is good to have again especially with Marshall's delivery skills. The real stupid thing is that people are interested in getting rid of Bamba because he has interest from prem teams. That's because he has prem skills. Prem teams are not queuing up for SSL.

Yes SSL made a mistake! But it didn't cost us the game! All the players make mistakes and then as fan we decide not to like them! Other than his bad pass he had a decent game and him and Morgan have been on fire! If we keep winning and obtaining clean sheets why should we change the back four? Bamba is good but he's too risky! He's not a Pearson defender he likes to use skill rather than just get rid of the ball! With SSL you can use progressive passing of which has worked well in our last three games so why should we take off a player who has been at the centre of our style of play?

You are going well over the top. Bamba is simply one option we have at centre back currently. He's got ability and he's got weaknesses too. Pearson obviously likes the other two in front of Bamba at present. I agree with him. We are currently conceding very few goals. Why on earth would you want to change the back four unless forced to?
Guest ttfn Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Bamba's comfortably our best centre-back in my opinion. Agree with what FIF said about people disliking him because he defends differently to others. That said, we've kept two clean sheets in a row (albeit against Derby and Coventry) and it would send out the wrong message if he came in for Bristol.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Bamba is much better than St. Ledger, in my opinion. He bosses far more.

Why on earth would you want to change the back four unless forced to? what's so over the top? Firstly it's just my opinion. It's not obvious that Pearson likes the other two more. Bamba has been away for a month at the African Nations cup. And I understand why NP wouldn't change a back 4 who haven't conceded (though without Kasper that would have been different). But with your reasoning when they do he should. It amazes me that people want to sell Bamba. I feel confident enough to say that he will soon regain his position in the team and that he will be in the starting lineup on the first day of next season. Bamba should be one of the first names on the team sheet. he is a class above most players in the championship. Drinkwater too will eventually become a team mainstay.
Guest Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 btw I'm now going to sing and whistle Sol, Sol Bamba for the next half an hour or so.

It's over the top because you are making out that most fans think Bamba is a liability, which ain't true. I would suspect that most people agree with you, Bambas a good, solid defender. You aren't saying anything that we don't already know and are strangely trying to be some sort of crusader for him? You don't need to.. But the current pairing look good together. If you wanna sing Sol Bamba for the next half hour you go for it...

What the penalty yesterday? Because that was Morgan. If SSL is not good then why is he always making it in the team? Everton was interest at King at one point, does that make him have prem skills? why not get rid of Bamba at the end of the season? Get alot of profit of him
MGLCFC Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Whilst I will conceed that Bamba is probably the most naturally gifted footballer at the club, his positional play is woeful and it's only his own pace and strength that gets him out of sticky situations. Call me old fashioned, but SSL and Morgan may not get the crowd chanting their names, but the do the basics very well, with a no nonsense approach. I like Bamba and he can come up with the unexpected, but he is prone to errors.

I think that Bamba has an unreasonable amount of negative fans on here based on what I read. but if that was your only problem I'm sorry to have replied to your (pointless) post.

Get alot of profit of him The pass was from SSL. the interception and foul were by Morgan. Morgan certainly didn't pass the ball back to himself and then skillfully intercept it. And you have given a prime example of the foolish City comments concerning Bamba. We want more Prem quality players not less. The money doesn't help us the player does. Are yousuggesting we should sell Bamba, make profit and then buy a championship (or worse) quality defender to replace him?

I like Bamba and he can come up with the unexpected, but he is prone to errors. But you don't mind if I disagree do you? Morgan has looked good so far in a city shirt but it's too small a sample for me to go overboard yet. He is solid and could be a good partner for Bamba. SSL is also a good championship defender and if we didn't have Bamba and Morgan I'd be happy with him as our starter. as it is he's the third best and a good rotation player keeping Mills off of the match day roster at the moment. The beauty of Bamba is the combination of size and speed. He's great in the air like Morgan but can also cover the speedy attackers and cover the times that our other defenders get caught out - especially when Pelts and Konch get themselves forward. Bamba is the Lebron of the Championship.
MGLCFC Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 It will always be a devisive debate FIF and I have no objection to a different opinion, particular as there are 3 camps here, those who want Bamba in the team, those who don't and the unsure. I probably sit in the unsure camp as there are times I think he is awesome and others when my heart is in my mouth.
