Lambert09 Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 I would stick with Wellens for now, although I hope we replace him next season. So when that happens I would give the arm band to Kasper. All the people saying Konchesky...how many of you judged Mills as being a bad choice of captain for getting sent off? Twice Konch has done something really stupid?? Would he have been slated for it as much???
Night Air Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Kasper for me mate How can he be a captain when he can't communicate with the whole side?
Kitchandro Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 How can he be a captain when he can't communicate with the whole side? Defenders can't often communicate with the strikers. Strikers can't often communicate with the defenders. So what you're saying is only midfielders should be captains, even if non of them are good leaders? There have been numerous great captains who have been goalkeepers.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Can see Wellens sticking as Captain, Or maybe St.Ledger! I don't think having a keeper as captain is good but that's just my opinion. Wasn't it abit funny how king got the captains role when rumours were that Everton were interested? King will find it hard getting in our midfield, It's looking strong atm, Wellens up to stratch aswell as Danns, Drinkwater on the bench so that shows how hard it is to get in
8starstriker8 Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Why not Nuge? RVP isn't that vocal but he lets his goals do the talking and i think it would give him another boost to get 20 - 30 goals a season!
Captain... Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Why not Nuge? RVP isn't that vocal but he lets his goals do the talking and i think it would give him another boost to get 20 - 30 goals a season! I guess it depends what you want in your captain, one of the criteria is first name on the team sheet, Nugent and Kasper have been pretty much ever present all season, and when fit are automatic choices, Konchesky, Wellens and Peltier are also in that bracket, but Pelts doesn't have any real competition. Then you look at their influence on the pitch, Nugent leads by example but he is a bit of a joker on the pitch and not one to gee up the other players, Wellens is a bit of a moaner but if anything being captain has curbed that side to him, Konch and Kasper are vocal, but as stated before Kasper is limited by being stuck in goal. The closest to Wellens in terms of being a candidate for captain is Konch, but neither are going to be around in 3 years time. In summary I can't see past Wellens for next season, by the end of next season though I expect SSL or Morgan or King to have made a genuine claim to be captain.
