Steven Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Team sport is such a complicated set of variables. There is an issue around quality of the individuals to factor in, as well as the ethics and culture of the team and sqaud as a whole. We chop and change managers at the drop of a hat, (or a few points). New managers bring new coaches who bring new tactics, new twists and variations. That is not conducive to consistency. Funnily enough, every team in the league is trying to win every match. To expect us to be able to throw teams and managers together and go out and waltz to victory week in week out is frankly ridiculous. Add to that the player factor. Consistency in the eyes of many of our fans is winning week in week out. To do that you have to also have top quality players as well. Have we ? They are good, no doubt. But if you were putting a Championship "team of the year" together right now based on this season, who would be in it from LCFC ?? One or two at best. Yet we seem to think that with better than average players and a new manager every six months we can be aiming for automatic promotion and just roll teams over. Like it or not, Sven should have been given the whole season. He wasn't. We move on. Pearson should now be supported over a long period. Certainly beyond this season; probably all of the following one. If we want consistency in results, we have to have consistency on the pay-roll.

hackneyfox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 The midfield that has been played too consistently. Wellens, Gallagher & Dyer are only capable of a good performance every third game, and 2 of them struggle to achieve average in another. Sell them, pay them off, get rid, NFP may have a chance then. I'd bin him as well though.
Cropwellfox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Reason for inconsistency? Maybe because the overpaid numpties have spent the season believing too much their own hype. Forget the talk of who is or isn't currently good enough - two years ago we were within a whisker of promotion with a side regularly featuring the likes of Neilson, Morrison, McGivern, Brown, Bruce and Oakley. The difference? Paid far less and less ego and hype surrounding them. This squad is a shambles which isn't getting any better the more time they have together.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Here's a reason for the inconsistency this season. willy puller !!! He is currently our captain and even when not, our most experienced player and supposed leader on the pitch. He is most influencial when it comes to setting the tone and the tempo of our play. So yes we can blame him...... Never mind the other 13 or so players !!!!! At least you admit he's our most influencial player !! Nope, just what can be seen on the field of play...... But you admitted last week you haven't been to the games !!! FFS !! Go on "Talking Balls " because that's all you do !!!
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Oh yeah .......consistency !!! Try telling that to Lee Clarke ......ex Huddersfield boss . Sacked after only three defeats in 55 matches and lying fourth in their league !! Is that conducive enough for you ???
seenitall Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Too many changes and not enough time given to either Sven nor Nige yet. I blame computer games and the modern desire for instant success. Its the same in the music industry where if you are not big after your first album you get drpped by thelabel, yet most great bands, like great football teams, need developing.
Haydos Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Here's a reason for the inconsistency this season. In a year and a half on this forum I have yet to see a good or even thoughtful post from you, this basically sums it up. I would usually think you were trolling but from the sheer amount of god awful posts you make I've come to the conclusion you know nothing about football.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 we are inconsistent because we can't keep the same starting 11 from match to another
Zingari Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 The main reason for our inconsistency is that we have not been consistent enough . For more insightful gems of wisdom please visit my website statingthebleedinobvious.com
