Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I remember the old days of Russell Hoult being the Hot Dog Kid. Two seasons I bought hot dogs at Filbert Street hoping to be the next one. And I hate Frankfurters an' all.
deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 A few years after Oldfield along came Phil Gee and then after him Elvis Hammond and Junior Lewis (not a striker apparently though). The Hurst, Charlton, Smith and Lineker, Shearer, Fowler and Rooney clones have just been incessant at the club over the years. :banghead:
sphericalfox Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I'll all about dessert based distraction, but have you seen this?
Guest Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 eh? The first casualty of all the 'right wing intellectualism' that's bombarded FT today eh Zingari?
HEGGSY Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I remember the good old days of Pleaty and the old wooden main stand at Filbo where you could usually pick your spot, in the wing stands at least. Rarely a problem, getting tickets home or away. And that star striker David Oldfield up front constantly scoring at will. Seriously, did you not expect football to change as time went by? We all loved Filbo, but christ, stop living in the fvcking past.
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 What happened to Bentley's Roof? Its population was simply over-aged and died of collective rheumatism.
HEGGSY Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Why would we want to talk football/City? Most of us remember watching football when it was entertaining and fun. We also remember being in proper stadium with real fans, a real atmosphere and decent chants. It isn't the fault of the newer fans, they know no different, but we are from another time and another place where modern football and all that goes with it is far removed from the real thing. Why do you still take an interest in Leicester, or football in general, if all you do is moan about it?
Zingari Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 The first casualty of all the 'right wing intellectualism' that's bombarded FT today eh Zingari? I'm quite easily confused , but flippin heck some of the stuff these lads from the ivory towers of BR keep coming out with are making my head spin I think I might go and read some of Nighty's poems instead
deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 Seriously, did you not expect football to change as time went by? We all loved Filbo, but christ, stop living in the fvcking past. LIving in the past? Jesus wept. Just making the obvious point that in many respects things aint changed (that much), aside from a new ground and bigger gates, Stop being so fvcking patronising.

deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 What happened to Bentley's Roof? Its population was simply over-aged and died of collective rheumatism. As opposed to the inebriated callow sciolism on here. :crylaugh:
21st Century Fox Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 For a self proclaimed intellectual you seem to spend a lot of time trolling. Do you not have any Ayn Rand on the go?
sphericalfox Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I'm learning lots of new clever words today I don't understand these new words at all. They make me feel all inferior and stupid and such. You can't defeat a man who adds laughey faces at his own jokes. Full stop.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 If I'd have known that posting with a thesaurus within reaching distance would make me an intellectual, I'd have done it years ago. Inebriated callow sciolism? Please. You aren't Noam Chomsky or some other linguist of renown. EDIT: Unsure as to how you came to the conclusion that some are inebriated, pissed posting is an art that is sadly absent from this thread.
Zingari Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I don't understand these new words at all. They make me feel all inferior and stupid and such. You can't defeat a man who adds laughey faces at his own jokes. Full stop. i don't know why people feel the need to use sesquipedalian words
deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 I'm learning lots of new clever words today That makes one of us then Ayn Rand was an exploitative nutter. Let's get back to the football. How impressed are you with Paul Girlygher's midfield tackling and bottling challenges, his tracking back and (aside from a few goals - usually widely spread out over the season) his disproportionately ineffective team performance?

Yes, right-wing poster girl.
Zingari Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 I thought she was the first British woman athlete to win Olympic gold in athletics
Webbo Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 i don't know why people feel the need to use sesquipedalian words It's totally galimatias.
deeply_intellectual_fox Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 Chomsky was evil personified. And decidedly obtuse. Superb narcissistic self publicist though. Stick to the football - Do you rate Paul Girlygher - as many very astutely call him on the Roof?

21st Century Fox Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 is he dead ? He was very much alive when I saw him in Cardiff last year.
Zingari Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 He was very much alive when I saw him in Cardiff last year. did you see him at a conference/seminar etc ? If so how was it ? i must admit that the "who cares?" answer to questions about 911 JFK really irritated and astounded me !
