Player ratings v Burnley

I don't think anyone's posted City player ratings for the Burnley game (please correct me if I'm wrong !). Can someone do it - us poor souls in the 'wet north' would appreciate it ?!

There genuinely is no point. If I had to I'd give 5's all around except a 6 for Marshall and Nugent and 7 for Drinkwater.

To be fair, i thought the back 4 did very well albeit against an average attack. Peltier and Konchesky supported the attack throughout and i thought Peltier in particular had his best game for some time.

Drinkwater certainly tried hard to make things happen but then the rest all average

Thank you. At least it's good to know that 3 players deserved their wages this week. And Drinkwater should never have been dropped for the Millwall game (does Pearson have a 'blind spot' / love tryst with Gallagher ?) !

from my point of view, average preformance from defence as we didnt concede just shocking up front

i'd agree with this

All below a 5.

None of them deserve over a 5 after last night's dreadful performance, I have never watched such shite at our stadium, it was horrific to watch.

Morgan was probably the most comfortable, Peltier did ok but the rest were absolutely shocking, even Nugent was greedy with his shots and wasted loads.

Not sure why people would give Bamba only a 5.... He made 1 excellent block preventing a goal and an exceptional goal line clearance.

By the odd bad pass, he did little wrong

He was awful defensively in the first half. Most of his recovery tackles/blocks come from a mistake he has made in the first place!

Maybe we should sign John Terry/Carles Puyol and Vidic in the summer or maybe even our fans will criticise them too!!

Awful defensively, yet we kept a clean sheet..... We've got a lot of work to do to please some people

Schmeicel- 5, nothing to do but watch for most of the game.

Peltier- 7, my motm, didn't lose the ball and played some decent balls into the box

Bamba- 5, made a pretty big mistake but was redeemed seconds after with a delightful challenge in the box

Morgan- 6, nothing to do, passed the ball well and lost nothing in the air

Konch- 6, again, quiet but didn't make a mistake

Marshall- 7, solid, good with the ball and good forward runs, needs to work on his corners though

Drinkwater- 6, made some decent tackles and good forward passes

Wellens- 5, only came to life in the last 10 minutes

Dyer- 4, weak

Beckford- 6, put himself about, tried to get on some passes but not enough support from midfield

Nugent- 7, worked very hard, good enegy and pace.

Well when a team come here and show absolutely no ambition to win the game, keeping a clean sheet isn't exactly difficult. I like Bamba, but in my opinion he was poor in the first half yesterday. If you were pleased with the performance yesterday maybe you're too easy to please, rather than other people being too hard to please?!

So we can't criticise players mistakes now when they aren't concentrating?

We only keep a clean sheet due to Kasper, two of our posts and the referee missing an outrageously obvious handball. The defending wasn't good and a better side would have really punished us.

I wasnt happy with the game last night either or the season for that fact. However, the critiscm levels this season have been crazy.

We'll never get the perfect defence and although Burnley mainly defended a clean sheet is a clean sheet regardless.

Bamba and Morgan did ok last night imo, i never said amazing but certainly deserved better than a 5 out of 10.

Harsh to be fair. Yes the posts saved us but Bamba and Morgan made some timely interceptions.

Who would you prefer to see play at the back then?

I think Morgan has a role to play and a new centre half wil come in.

At the minute I would play Morgan and SSL.

When Burnley hit the post last night that was quite possibly the worst defending I've seen from an LCFC player this season - guess who, SOL SOL BAMBA

Yes he made an error but he made up for it with a great tackle...

To say it was the worst bit of defending this season is ridiculous!! I wouldnt know where to start but maybe game 3 against Bristol City when SSL just gave Maynard the ball.....!!!

No, Bamba's positioning was awful (yet again) and his lack of effort and woeful attempt - if you can call it that to try and win the header was fvcking diabolical. We will continue to leak goal after goal with that clown at the back.

When Bamba made that goalline clearance me and my mate were saying we thought everyone will praise him for that. Completely forgetting that it happend because of his woeful attempt at trying to beat the striker to a header. Glad we wern't the only ones. It wasn't even hard to beat the striker to ball, if he'd been in the correct position or timed his header better, he wouldn't have had to make the clearance.

Defence and midfielders 5's

Forwards 4's

Fair enough, thats your opinion but have a look this season in the games when he's not played also.... You'll see its not great reading either.

Have you not seen the games away at Blackpool, Bristol City and Watford where we lost embarrassing goals.....

Dont get me wrong, im not saying Bamba is the answer but my point being the likes of SSL have made just as many mistakes as Sol, if not more....

Plus only we can have a 'clown' that got to the final of the AFCON without conceding a goal but not good enough for us!!!??

Say what you want about the quality of the players in that tounament but hardly poor when Ivory Coast failed to win it despite having the likes of Drogba, K.Toure, Y.Youre, Gervinho, Kalou etc etc
