Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Not sure whether it is possible for you, but if you have the time it may be worth looking at an intensive course, I would imagine it would work out cheaper and not having a week between lessons means you will get up to speed quicker, it used to come as a package where you paid out for the classes the theory and the test in one lump at the start, so it may be a large amount, but could save you money in the long run if you pass first time, Leicester test centre, on gypsy lane, used to be a bit of a pig, if I remember you came out and straight on to a nasty round-a-bout/junction, pretty much the first thing you come across on your test, anyone know if it has improved? If not, avoid taking your test there if possible. Its a box junction and yes its still there, failed my first test because of the lights and a stupid cyclist there. Passed the second time though.
Ozwin Posted 3 May 2012 Author Posted 3 May 2012 I live in Glen Parva near the park. There's a bloke who me,my sister and neighbours used who lives round here. I've forgot his name but he advertises as AIM HIGH Decent then haha? I think he might be the one my mate used cos he lives down there too.
Captain... Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Get back into the swing of it Nightguard. Don't be so negative haha, you sound like me! Anyone got any driving tips before I start, I'm a bit nervous but it needs to be done. Just spend as much time in the car as possible, are you going to learn in an instructors car, and will you have access to another car to practice in? If so make sure they are of similar size, it will be much easier, If you don't have a car to practice in, don't leave it too long between lessons, it will take fewer lessons if you have 2 2hour lessons a week, than 1 1 hour, and therefore cheaper in the long run. Read up on the theory, even after you have passed the theory, it is all good info, and knowing it will make things much easier when driving.
Guesty Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Get back into the swing of it Nightguard. Don't be so negative haha, you sound like me! Anyone got any driving tips before I start, I'm a bit nervous but it needs to be done. I failed my first 2 tests at Gypsy Lane and gave up. Then 4 years later tried again. Make sure you get a good driving instructor, it makes all the difference. I'd avoid gypsy lane like the plague. After the Hiatus I passed 1st time at Wigston. Plus in the test act confident and lie. I told the examiner I was a special needs teacher and was about to go off to Africa to help ophans. She passed me with flying colours and was the harshest examiner there (so my instructor told me).
Rincewind Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 I remember one instructor telling me not to drive like him. Made me really confident that did.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 I'm with Acclaim. You pay £55 for your first 5 hours, then £20 per hour after that. Pretty good compared to most.
