I am Rod Hull Posted 26 May 2012 Author Posted 26 May 2012 Thought the OP said there were 41 there were only 26 I forgot about the play-offs, but I am taking this seriously and can only apologise for the lack of professionalism on my part .
Rincewind Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 Good Wogan type comment from Graham Norton when the camera showed some Greeks cheering. 'They just heard the Greek finance minister has died.' Eng just got a point.
Rincewind Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 When I said Russia should win I was only joking. Just listened to the Swedish one. OK. My selection has still got non pont.
Rincewind Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 I think the UK should split up and put forward songs from Scotland irelan and Wales as well as England. We could all vote for each other then and be assured of not finishing in the bottom half.
Webbo Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 I don't know why we bother with this crap, we're never going to win it again. On the plus side I'm looking good for the sweep.
Rincewind Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 It is a bit of a farce. There are all thecountries that were part of a bigger country voting for each other. Even Spain and Portugal voted for each other. Did Ireland vote for the UK or visa versa. UK are too british to play favouritism. Thought the songs were supposed to be original and not unreleased? The winner has been No. 1 in countries around Europe already so it's already popular. How many of the other songs have been released as singles?
I am Rod Hull Posted 26 May 2012 Author Posted 26 May 2012 5.Webbo-37.Sweden: Loreen with “Euphoria” Webbo wins. Well played mate.
Webbo Posted 26 May 2012 Posted 26 May 2012 It was a hard fought contest but in the end I think I deserved it.
bluesbrothers Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 Poor enge. Screwed over by being drawn first. Not a winner, but deserved to come much higher. I think the fact that screaming cow with a breadloaf on her head from albania made the top 5 sums up Eurovision.
purpleronnie Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 The bookies got it spot on...sweden were favourites, russia 2nd favourites, serbia 3rd favourites.
Leicester_Numan Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 I think the UK should split up and put forward songs from Scotland irelan and Wales as well as England. We could all vote for each other then and be assured of not finishing in the bottom half. Unfortunately, we'd vote for Scotland & Wales but they'd use it in a political way and not vote for us while their politicians put the pressure on about dissolving the Union. Their attitude to us is totally different to our attitude to them. We support them in their sporting & other endeavours as part of Great Britain, they just hate us. Look at their attitude to the British Olympic football team. Stinks!
Rincewind Posted 27 May 2012 Posted 27 May 2012 Yes the English are too nice. Never saw all the songs but I thiught Italy's was OK. Think it was the one Graham Norton saying the singer was like Amy Winehouse. When she was alive I assume. I am sure none of the songs were released before the contest years ago. I think that's wrong. The songs should be written for the contest so the judges are hearing them for the first or maybe second time. Some woman was even selling CD's of the songs just after it had finished. Having Englebet doing ours was on a loser to start with. Maybe we should see which song has sold well and been poplar over Europe then enter it.
