act smiley Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 That's sort of my point though, really, you do a Panorama program with a potential agenda (a little residual bitterness for not being granted your own major international football tournament lately?) that's clearly setting out from the start to get ratings by being sensational is clearly going to make the situation look awful. I've never been to Eastern Europe, I can't make my own assessment as to how accurate it was. Maybe it's truly awful, I don't know. But I've a couple of good friends from both Poland and the Ukraine and I can't say they've ever struck me as in any way backwards! No idea about what its like in Ukraine, but I remember discussing this with a Polish acquaintance a couple of years back and his view was that basically while there are substantial problems at club level, those involved are very much club fans and the fans of the national side are just regular people so there won't be any major problems inside the stadiums.

Some shocking scenes tho, be interesting to see if anything happens during the Euro's, i doubt much will for some reason though.

Captain... Posted 5 July 2012 Posted 5 July 2012 No they're not racist in poland: All over poland these adverts. But seriously they were lovely people in Poland, but they were pissed off with the panorama docu, apparently it was all the Jews fault (a genuine comment from a Pole I met)
