My brother gave me a load of E-books which I transferred to Calibre but they must be on my laptop not my PC. Only got a selection on. Will check laptop later think I have around 700 books. A lot of mediocre stuff but my brother downloaded them for holiday reading for his Kindle.

I am not sure whether to be offended you thought it more likely that his name was Florde than that I was able to spell his name correctly
Rincewind Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I misread the name. Looked at it twice and still thought it was Fl. It's not you it's the old mind trick. FF is not a common beginning to a name (well not in England)
Rincewind Posted 16 June 2012 Posted 16 June 2012 Found two Jasper Fforde's in my Calibre list on my laptop The Last Dragonslayer and The Missing Thursday. I have a total of 3994 books in the library, including 15 Serbian books and 7 Dutch. Although I looked at the 3 Spanish books and the cover and authors are in English. Never looked at the content. There is probably a lot of rubbish among them but it's a start.

Vacamion Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 He's taking time off being dead for tax purposes. Genius. I just re-read the books, and the stuff about Hotblack Desiato and DisasterZone is really well written. Personally I think the 3rd book is Adams at his peak, but they are all brilliant.
