Looking forward to see how Cadel goes defending his title, i think the pressure is off him as he has now won one and all the pressure is on the short priced favourite Wiggins. So fingers crossed he can defend his title.

Also looking forward to the new Australian team Green Edge lead by one of my heroes Stewy O'grady saddling up for his 16th tour and hoping Matty Goss can win a stage for them.

Bring on the sleepless nights i say

Wiggins best chance by a mile this year and everyone will be rooting for him, very worried about Cadel as he knows how to win now and thats massive in Le Tour.

Just can't believe how short he is with the bookies to win. I heard only Lance Armstrong when going for 4 and 5 in a row have been shorter odds in the last 25 years, incredible for a bloke who's best tour finish is 4th.

For betting people Pierre Roland 12/1 for a top 3 finish is juicy odds.

Ive got Roland outright at 50's liked him last year, will back him to place as well tomorrow. Wiggins is far far too short, impossible to back at the odds.

Yeah he was a beast last year and to use a horse racing term will be better for the run.

Wiggins does have a great team supporting him, with 2 strong Aussies who aren't to bad up the mountains in Porte and Micky Rogers who will be right by his side the whole way.

Cadel has never had a great team supporting him but i think they are stronger this year with Phillipe Gilbert, Hincape and a bloke who is meant to be decent but i know little about Tejay van Garderen. Going to be a great tour i reckon

Like them or not, but it will be a bit diluted without Contador and Andy Schleck...

As you can tell i'm pro Cadel so i'm glad they are out :D

Already messed it up. Chose the wrong team and bonus stage... So Gesink better have the ride of his life today!!!

Mixed bag so far. Gesink way down, Tony Martin with mechanical problems can also be written off (was on target for first at the time), but have the current top 3 in my team (Wiggins, Chavanel and Hagen) with Cancellara still to come.

Shen do you think Frank Schlek is a chance for the overall this year? I know he isn't a great time trialist but i reckon with Andy not racing he may slip under the radar of a few teams a bit this year and make up some great time on one of the climbs in the final week. What are your thoughts?

Applied to join your mini league. Wish I had seen this earlier as a few of my fancies have already bagged a few points...

I don't think his form is as good this year leading up to the tour.

I think a podium place is within reach. However with the number of serious contenders being so few, I think he'll have a hard time slipping under the radar. Wiggins, Evans, Roland, Leipheimer, vd Broeck etc will be ready to jump when he does. My initial thought was the same as yours: Now that Andy is out, will he take his chance? However with fewer mountain stages and with 100km of ITT, it'll be tough for him to make up for lost time. So a podium finish and/or a stage win is likely the best he'll do.

Hectic stage today. A load of crashes, pile-ups, slips and an unfortunate broken leg for Sky's Kanstantsin Siutsou.

Another impressive ride from Sagan and he has also openly set his sights on the green jersey.

That will hurt Wiggins.

Poor Simon Gerrans got stuck in a barbed wire fence, thankfully he completed the stage.

Really disapointed that Cav missed the chance for victory today, I'm just glad that he went for the sprint point earlier on in the stage.

Not sure the Sprint point will really matter as i have my doubts Cavendish will ride thru to Paris, i think he will pull the pin to focus on the Olympics.

Cracking finish that with the breakaway just getting caught in the last 200m. So close to a maiden win for Orica Green Edge and Matty Goss who hopefully will Nab one soon

I was convinced the break-away group were going to make it once they started the drag up the hill but the peleton just ramped up the pace. Greipel did incredibly well to escape that crash and then take the win.

Well done Chris Froome and Team Sky, brilliant stuff to get the stage win and the yellow jersey for Wiggins.
