purpleronnie Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Excuse my ignorance but I heard (maybe incorrectly) that the other cyclist for sky could have raced ahead in the last race but chose not to and instead helped wiggins maintain his lead, is this how it works...kinda like F1 racing.
Amin Posted 21 July 2012 Author Posted 21 July 2012 Great TT from Wiggins, and Froome did well in the last sector to only lose 1 second to him.

I'm not sure how that is like F1, but yes, Froome could of got away from him in a couple of the stages. Wiggins would have caught him in this TT anyway so its not really a big issue.
stix Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 I've never watched the tour de france before but that last 11km was great television
Super_horns Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 Made that look easy at the end. Could be the first of a few times we hear the national anthem
I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 He's a weller fan so I like him. Keith or Paul?
Phube Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 So my thoughts are: A Brit has won the TDF because he's on drugs... or because all the previous winners have be banned because of drugs! Either way it's drug related!

oxford blue Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 So my thoughts are: A Brit has won the TDF because he's on drugs... or because all the previous winners have be banned because of drugs! Either way it's drug related! Rubbish! Wiggins was superb and his achievement matches anything by any English team or individual. Wiggins would not take drugs - he's seen his father destroyed through drugs. I think it likely that virtually all the riders were clean - it's increasingly likely someone will be caught - also, no unusual surges up the mountains towards the end of a stage. Frome was also great - hopefully his turn next year. And I'm hoping Cav can reproduce his sprints of the last few days next week to win gold in another week.
purpleronnie Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 I've just realised I have very similiar sideburns to wiggy the mod.......not sure why I havent cut them or noticed how big they were, maybe it was a subconscious tribute?
Amin Posted 22 July 2012 Author Posted 22 July 2012 What a great way to end a great Tour de France. Only six days to wait till the Olympic road race!
Bayfox Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 Made that look easy at the end. Could be the first of a few times we hear the national anthem lets hope they ask someone who can sing next time!!!
