In the 60s there was a programme called Juke Box Jury where a panel voted new singles as a 'hit' or a 'miss'.  It was one way of getting to hear new records and I was a regular viewer.  The theme tune was a top ten hit in itself.  For historical interest I've included a clip from an early show.

It was DLT - he was a presenter on Beat Club for a while.
