I've just read this article , and whilst i think its a good idea, i couldn't help but wince.

 That is horrible, I just hope nobody forgets to take it out if they pull.

Is rape really such a threat that this is necessary, I can imagine them being sold in vending machines in Yates',

"Want to get drunk, but the crowd look a little rapey, try Rapex."

I could also see it being used as revenge on a cheating partner or something.

I'm not really sure how it's supposed to work but it looks a bit dangerous to the woman really , not all penises are the same size and it looks as though a big 'un would just shove the thing right up inside.

Have they sold any, that report was 2007.

If someone attacked you and you had a weapon on you that could inflict similar injuries elsewhere on the body wouldn't that be consider a crime? Just a thought on where does self protection start and finish?

yes i thought the same thing . how is it any different to carrying a knife in such an eventuality ?

What's the likelihood of a woman being able to predict when she's likely to be raped? I can imagine someone fairly, erm, paranoid, wearing this every time they go out on the town only to then get raped as they walk to their local shop in broad daylight. :dunno:

Perhaps it could be enhanced to provide pleasure to the wearer so they get value for money.

One of these should do the job

Unless the rapist is also a locksmith

or can use a pair of scissors

Doh! never thought of that.

Isn't wearing one a pre-meditated crime? The woman will know a person will be injured in certain circumstances.

Chatisty belts were the norm a few centries ago. There probably was no crime such as rape so it was the woman's way of saying no.

I suspect in prehostoric times it was common because both man and woman were not big clothes wearers.

The Victorians sort of cf resolved this by wearing that many under garments the bloke would have a heart attack before he got to the fruits of his labour.

On a serious note I thought I read somewhere that many rapists are unable to have sex or molest in other ways.also if they are prevented in some way they may become more violent.

Very flawed for all of the reasons stated above, women forgetting to take it out or using it as revenge if their other half has been cheating, as well as the fact that it would if used surely be filed under GBH or wounding with intent.

You could argue it's a brutal response to a brutal crime, but this device does too far in my view. I don't see any real justification for it.

I know this is off track but:

Vagina Dentata.

What a wonderful phrase........

Rapists deserve to have their cocks sliced up.

But as mentioned above, there's nothing to stop women using it against cheating partners etc

What anti-rape device do men have?

The ability to clench your sphincter.
