SharpeFox Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Here's my latest article about James Taylor's call up to the England Test squad for tomorrow's second Test against South Africa. http://www.thesharpeend.com/2012/08/james-taylor-england-call-up-long.html#more Enjoy.
Out Foxed Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 i thought this was going to be about the recording artist.
Corky Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 I hope he's an England regular, so we, like with Broad, get the most of his county career and Notts get the England player.
NiftyFox Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Great to see a Leicestershire boy in the England team, good luck for him tomorrow he deserves it.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 I hope he's an England regular, so we, like with Broad, get the most of his county career and Notts get the England player. I think far too many internationals are played in cricket now. Like you say, you don't want international players in the squad.
NiftyFox Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 I may question the long overdue. This is because yes he scored loads of runs for Leicestershire but was he really tested by Div.2 bowlers as it would be a big step up to test cricket? He started off badly for Notts scoring one 50 in the first half of the season but now he deserves his chance with runs in all formats of the game. I hope he's given more of a chance than Bairstow as the likes of Northeast and Root are waiting for their overdue.
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Long long overdue, great young talent and a far better option than Bopara.
Captain... Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Good article that, I'm torn at the moment, I have been callng for 5 bowlers for a while now, but if we can find a genuine batsman at number 6 then all the better, with Headingley being a result pitch and the conditions looking like they will give the bowlers some help, maybe 5 bowlers will be overkill, but then do you want to throw in a debutant against the best attack in the world with their peckers up and full of confidence. What's his all round game like? Good fielder? Looks like he can throw down a few overs too, likely to be used for that or are we talking sub Trott and Pieterson.

Class fielder, good with the helmet on or at backward point. Can chuck a few overs of spin but I highly doubt he will be given the chance.
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Class fielder, anywhere around point he's excellent.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Good luck to the lad, hope he has a crap Ashes tho
