THEFATBASTARD Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Sad to hear the Top gun director has died after jumping from a bridge in LA... It is reported he was suffereing from depression...I guess its another example of money and fame being nothing if your in the grip of the "black dog"...
MC Prussian Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 The movie industry (especially in L.A.) can be unforgiving and harsh at times, but it does seem to attract a healthy dose of people with very particular idiosyncrasies. I can but speculate, but I assume he also wasn't really working (or "in the game") for a longer period of time - it's been two to three years since "Unstoppable". I've never been a great fan of his buddy action movies, although I did grow up with "Top Gun" and "Days Of Thunder" . And I still like "Man On Fire". R.I.P. Tony - that's just no way to leave this world.
rico Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Made some great films, wonder if he had a terminal illness? RIP
Fox92 Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 http://www.dailymail...o=feeds-newsxml Hollywood director Tony Scott had inoperable brain cancer, a source close to him has revealed.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 It did seem it would have to be something like that as only the other day there were reports of Tom Cruise researching with the U.S. Navy for Top Gun 2, so they must have been fairly deep into development.
Daggers Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 The Daily Mail coming up with an unsourced story about cancer? There's a first.
