chili_con_carne Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 What's all the hype about? Seems to get linked to every single job that becomes available and seems to be heading to Blackpool. I know Portsmouth have a shite squad and all the rest of it, but he hasn't ever achieved anything in football management. Seems bizarre he's so talked about and wanted.
FrankieADZ Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 i dunno, i think Pompey have a pretty decent squad tbh....good for league 1 & have some good individual players...like Akos Buzsaky. on Appleton..i dunno; think a part of me thinks it might be agent talk putting his name in the mix.
Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 I would love Buzsaky at Leicester but Pearson would never take such a player on.
kingfox Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 You can say the same thing for a lot of managers. It's because he is young, and one of these up and coming managers that teams want nowadays. You could say the same thing about Dougie Freedman, what has he done in his short career so far? However Bolton wanted him, Darren Ferguson, Karl Robinson will all be wanted sooner or later as well.
oxford blue Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 If Michael Appleton does join Blackpool, will he be the first to join another club on the back of 4 successive defeats? kingfox questions what Dougie Freedman has done: Its sometimes worth taking a punt on a manager and Palace had risen to almost the top of the Championship before he left on the back of a 11 game run without defeat. Not sure about anyone wanting Ferguson with Posh in bottom 3; he also had an unsuccesful spell at Preston
Leicfox Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 He's just signed for Blackpool on a 1yr rolling contract. He'll be doing the same job he did at Pompey as Blackpool's chairman is the tightest fooker in football.
Leicesterpool Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Most boring appointment for Blackpool, he's done okay at Portsmouth with a limited budget but they still got relegated and sit near the bottom of league one and they hope this guy can take them to premier league? They could have got Billy Davies took Derby up and took Forest to two play off positions, Owen Coyle took Burnley up and did relegated Bolton but still took got promotion on his cv, Paulo Di Canio done an amazing job at Swindon, could be wanted by premier league clubs soon and there still not interested.
