I'd say the answer to both was "quick" :)

eg the sensitive skin under the nails is when you are said to be "cut to the quick"

What was the surname of the actress Diana that played Lady Julia Flyte in the television production of Brideshead Revisited?

Mmmm, I know what you mean but... The phrase "cut to the quick" means cutting rapidly and singularly down to the bone (of an animal).

Wiki says...

The nail bed is the skin beneath the nail plate.[7] Like all skin, it is made of two types of tissues: the deeper dermis, the living tissue which includes capillaries and glands,[8] The epidermis, the layer just beneath the nail plate, moves toward the finger tip with the plate.

what do man united do with their shirts after a match?

i cant see them being washed and used again.

pretty sure they are you know, I know that if they swap/throw them into the crowd they have to pay for them themselves (not that they would be bothered)

I always thought sponsors supplied the shirts.

I know Chris Kirkland used to go to "Just Keepers" in Hinckley and was given new gloves. Also his sponsor used to supply a new pair every week.

Here's a quick question...

Explain the meaning of life.

See, only 5 little words... I suspect the answer will take till the end of time.

There is no meaning, life just is. It's an anarchic, random path with no rhyme or reason - the only way it should be.

Nail bed

lol

A partial continuous progressive multiform and conditionally interactive self-realisation of the potentiality of atomic-electron states.

I think I agree with that.

Well, I always thought the actual cost of a shirt/strip is much less than we mere mortals fork out for it and also surely the suppliers (In Man U's case, Nike would provide an unlimited supply as part of the sponsorship deal.

I just dont see Wayne Rooney turning up in shorts with traces of a stubborn grass stain from the midweek game against Wigan.

Why is it that Spanish football kicks off so late in the evening - the time difference is minimal.

spanish life is later due to the climate difference. Evening meals can often be 10pm (as opposed to 8pm in France and 6/7pm in england)
