Rincewind Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 I have always contested that primitive man got their religion from the stars. The skies were a lot clearer 20 plus thousand years ago so the constellations could be seen as figures. Weather would have been unstable and the people thought they had done something wrong when it was around, and ruined their food or killed them. The brainier amongst them saw this as a chance to profit from the others. They asked for extra rations in exchange for performing some mumbo jumbo to make the demons cease. Sometimes they got it wrong but explained it by saying the Gods were still angry and needed more to satisfy them. Sacrifices were made animal and human. After a few thousand years The sky Gods faded other beliefs came about like spirits to explain life and death. So religion stuck. If these thibngs were about today, there would be somebody on the TV who is an expert explain things and as most people now have some level of intellegence would accept that rather than another who is saying it is some creature of great power that lives in the sky. I'm talking about if there was no religion here already. It would not be accepted. It is only here because other explainations was not around. So why believe in something that started with primative man when they did not have the answers to their questions? I am always baffled by that. Logic has no place in religion it seems.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 If another species created us then who created them? And who created those that created those that created us? I could go on infinitely with this but I'll stop now. Yes your likely to create a stir.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Who ever said there had to be a reason? Because science tells us for every cause there must be a reason. That is at the core of logical thinking.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Myself, I am vibration but as I am observed I am only light reflected. Is that akin to using a vibrator while catching a reflection of yourself in the mirror ? I kind of empathise with that.
MooseBreath Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Is that akin to using a vibrator while catching a reflection of yourself in the mirror ? I kind of empathise with that. You don't place the mirror so you can watch yourself?
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 You don't place the mirror so you can watch yourself? No I get my lady boy to hold it.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Speaking of logic anyone else think the latest Coronation story is showing no logic ? They gay ( homosexual ) guy Marcus is now not sure if he is gay so is knobbing Maria . Now if Maria is also giving him a blow job does she realise it's also been up the rectum of his previous gay boyfriend Shaun? she must have a bloody strong stomach that's all I can say.

Not just for the homosexuals of the world, been with a few girls who love the taste of their own shite, or does homosexual bum paste taste different?
The Doctor Posted 14 November 2012 Author Posted 14 November 2012 Because science tells us for every cause there must be a reason. That is at the core of logical thinking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqcaaUtPdAo Anything can happen at any time for no reason. Decent summary - quantum mechanics is entirely random, there is no reasoning.

The Doctor Posted 14 November 2012 Author Posted 14 November 2012 Yes but someone had to reason that out. Contrary or what ? No, they're completely random - that's independent of whether people had worked it out or not.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 No, they're completely random - that's independent of whether people had worked it out or not. The understanding of the word random is the product of a logical mind .
