kingfox Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 I know there are quite a few Darts fans on here, the draw for the PDC World Darts Championship was made at 11.30 this morning, some cracking matches in prospect, while there are a fairly good amount of youngsters in this year's draw. (1)Phil Taylor v Mickey Mansell (32)Wayne Jones v Jerry Hendriks (16)Paul Nicholson v Co Stompe (17)Robert Thornton v Magnus Caris (8) Andy Hamilton v James Richardson (25)Richie Burnett v James Hubbard (9)Terry Jenkins v Steve Brown (24)John Part v Joe Cullen (5)Simon Whitlock v Muramatsu/Harrington (28)Colin Osborne v Ilagan/J.Lewis (12)Dave Chisnall v Shane Tichowitsch (21)Andy Smith v Gurney/Marjanovic (4)Gary Anderson v Komula/Haavisto (29)Jamie Caven v Rodriguez/Bowles (13)Raymond V.Barneveld v Michael Smith (20)Brendan Dolan v Mark Jones (2)Adrian Lewis v Gino Vos (31)Denis Ovens v Hopp/Pietersen (15)Kevin Painter v Welge/Leung (18)Ronnie Baxter v Dennis Priestley (7)Michael V.Gerwen v Lim/Sapup (26)Peter Wright v Arron Monk (10)Mark Webster v Ian White (23)Colin Lloyd v Darin Young (6)Wes Newton v Johnny Haines (27)Kim Huybrechts v Scott Rand (11)Justin Pipe v Andy Jenkins (22)Mark Walsh v Darren Webster (3)James Wade v Peter Hudson (30)Steve Beaton v Kyle Anderson (14)Mervyn King v Dean Winstanley (19)Vincent V.Voort v Stuart Kellett
Tom17LCFC Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 Cannot wait. Absolutely love it, few beers in front of the telly for 3 weeks!!
chavdonk Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 I'm going to both sessions on the first Saturday! Can't wait!!! I'm shit hot on darts betting as well got 15/16 last darts bet up singles only, and my tip is to lay adrian lewis and back a few outsiders like wes newton, barney is worth a shout as is dean winstanley each way
Mack Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 First round is a bit pointless, gets going well after Christmas. Some of the foreign qualifiers would get a hiding in a lot of pubs.
Guest MattP Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 First round is a bit pointless, gets going well after Christmas. Some of the foreign qualifiers would get a hiding in a lot of pubs. Not just at Darts either.
Simmo86 Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 Away for Xmas and New Year so going to miss most of this
kingfox Posted 4 December 2012 Author Posted 4 December 2012 First round is a bit pointless, gets going well after Christmas. Some of the foreign qualifiers would get a hiding in a lot of pubs. Some decent matches though Mack. Barney v M.Smith Webster v White King v Winstanley Baxter v Priestley Jenkins v Brown Also some of the youngsters might do well like Arron Monk, James Hubbard and Jerry Hendriks. If Taylor and Hendriks meet in the Second Round, and Hendriks produces what he did on TV against Taylor last year I think it was, that could be a pretty close match, the kid only lost 10-7.
ScouseFox Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 C'monnn Whitlock. As per I'll be cheering on The Wizard, Barney and Wade. No idea who'll win it, was doubting Taylor but he was very good at the weekend, the way he demolished an on form Whitlock was unreal. And he's Taylor, you can never write him off. Lewis going for the hat-trick, Whitlock can beat anyone on his day, MvG can absolutely destroy whoever he wants if he's throwing well etc. It's going to be great. I love darts. This is one of the best things about Christmas.
ScouseFox Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 The Wizard for obvious reasons. The beard and hair combo. And the walk on music.
kingfox Posted 10 December 2012 Author Posted 10 December 2012 Starts on Friday and I cannot wait. Friday December 14 (7pm-12am) 1x Preliminary Round, 4x First Round 7.10pm Robert Thornton v Magnus Caris 8.15pm Andree Welge v Leung Chun Nam (P) 9.00pm Paul Nicholson v Co Stompe 10.00pm Adrian Lewis v Gino Vos 11.00pm Kevin Painter v Welge/Chun Nam Should be a fairly easy night for Painter and Thornton. Vos is a cracking prospect, and the way Lewis nearly bowed out in the first round last year, despite ending up winning it, and with the form he is currently in, I wouldn't be surprised if Vos took a set or two. My money this year is on Whitlock or MVG.
isaidno Posted 10 December 2012 Posted 10 December 2012 I had Whitlock last year e/w. Good e/w bet again @ 12/1. Van Gerwen is 9/2 second fav behind Taylor. Lewis is 12/1, seems to high
BoneDog Posted 11 December 2012 Posted 11 December 2012 What's e/w in darts? 1st or 2nd, or does semi loser count aswell? If it's semi's I'll have a bit of that. Hoping for a Jenkins, Whitlock or Pieman win.

BoneDog Posted 11 December 2012 Posted 11 December 2012 I'll have a few bob on King at that price. Might stick some on Gary Anderson aswell as an outside bet.
ScouseFox Posted 11 December 2012 Posted 11 December 2012 If anyone is betting on an outsider to be the winner, do it on Betfair, because a) the odds are better and b) you can cash out if they reach the quarters/semis and their odds drop if you want.
I am Rod Hull Posted 14 December 2012 Posted 14 December 2012 I like how sky tv say that Phil Taylor is 2/1 to win the tournament and only offer 15/8 on skybet
kingfox Posted 14 December 2012 Author Posted 14 December 2012 Bring it on. Thornton, Nicholson, Lewis and Painter for wins tonight. If Caris plays like he did towards the end of last year, he could give Thornton a good game, while if Stompe was in any sort of form then he would test Nicholson, but he isn't so comfortable win for Paul I think.
ScouseFox Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 This kid Hopp can play. Only 16 a few months back and he's not looking out of place on the Ally Pally stage.
