JohnnyB Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 I know it's been a while since he was here .... but still. Mark McGhee's been sacked by Bristol Rovers. I can remember a time when he was rumoured to be in the running to be groomed as Alex Ferguson's successor at Man Utd. His career trajectory since then has mainly been downward; from Wolves to Brighton to Bristol Rovers via a spell in Scotland. It didn't quite work out as planned! Guest Bilo Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 As disastrous as his decision to leave for Wolves was for him, it was superb for the club as MO'N came in and the rest was history. Some of the football we played during his tenure was outstanding, West Brom away stands out, and was one of the reasons why O'Neill was so keen to leave Norwich for us. He knew a good team had been built that could win promotion and stay there. I bore nothing like the same level of resentment towards McGhee that I did towards Little, even if he did make a fool of himself by suggesting Wolves were a better prospect.
Mack Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 He's not a bad manager. He might have made some career choice errors over his time but there's a lot worse out there. Scotland job still up for grabs is it?

Scotland job still up for grabs is it? Agreed, I don't think he is a bad manager. Woeful team at Bristol R, you can't polish a turd.
Brenfox Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 Not many managers leave us & go on to prosper.
Zingari Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 Debbie ?. Paul Daniels has been waving his wand at her for years .
I am Rod Hull Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 Paul Daniels has been waving his wand at her for years . Now that`s tragic...
DB11 Posted 17 December 2012 Posted 17 December 2012 Not many managers leave us & go on to prosper. I'd say for Craig Levein he had a better time with Scotland than when at Leicester. Gary Megson was with Bolton in the Prem for a bit.
BHAFC Braders Posted 17 December 2012 Posted 17 December 2012 Top bloke but seems to make rather odd decisions. Worked wonders for the Albion given what he had to work with mind, best of luck to him.
The People's Hero Posted 17 December 2012 Posted 17 December 2012 Best manager ever. Would have our band of turds at the top of this division.
