Somewhere in London Ric Flair is having a very bad night

Hahahahahaa i've had a fookin mare pal!!!!

I vowed to back Dufner every week after his stunning last round at Merion and had done up until this week! Why did I not back him? He was the first name I wrote down, along with Stenson. I looked at their odds and thought they were a touch too skinny at 40s and 25s respectively. But if they win and place then it doesn't bastard matter does it? I'd be about a grand better off right now and not sat here at my desk with my hair a mess and in a mardy.

I did have a £50 on him at 3/1 yesterday but it's not the same, I always find it cheating when you start thumping more bets on the golf after your initial picks. It's an empty win, the ultimate satisfaction comes from backing the winner in a 140 man event from the off, especially if you get the place on another pick too.

Valuable lesson learnt. I've had a good year but missed a few winners through being far to erratic and over-thinking my selections.

This is probably my worst year in the majors too, last year I had Webb Simpson, Ernie and a few places. This year it started with a huge place on Leishman in the Masters and Olesen, followed by places on Day and Ernie at the US Open but got sod all at Muirfield and an empty saver yesterday. Damp squib.

On another note I had about 5 three putts on saturday with my new putter, very nice. Thanks, money well spent.

Shit! Just received an email about the Presidents Cup in Ohio in October. As i went in Melbourne as part of the fanatics supporter group for free courtesy of Greg Norman on the condition we dressed up and gave the Internationals support. The email asked if i was keen again free tickets for all 4 days and 5 nights free accom and transfers. Just got to get myself there. Meant to be in Costa Rica at the time but looking at re-arranging a few things and getting myself there.

Too good an opportunity to pass up as no doubt if it's anything like the last one the players and there wags will be loving us again just pissed Adam Scott isn't still dating Ivanovic as she was amazing and super friendly.

That's amazing mate! A flight from Costa Rica to the US won't be that much I don't think. Maybe a few hundred? How long you in Costa Rica for?

Early fancies for this weeks US event are:

Sabbattini, Matt Jones, Zach Johnson & Matsuyama. Zach is only 16/1 along with Webb Simpson, both are due a win but at those odds what's a man got to do? Will make a decision on those two tomorrow.

Brad Faxon is 125/1 to win on the Champions Tour this week, his record at that course throughout his career reads 2 wins and several top ten places. It's a big naughty e/w bet that is for me.

I need a big week, Dufner and Stenson have left me livid with myself and chasing my lost * winnings *

Was meant to be in Costa Rica for 5 days but will forgo that and catch a flight from Nicaragua which will cost about a few hundred which i will make back on the free accom and flights.

The yank crowd will hate our banter but the players loved it especially Freddy Couples who even joined us for a few songs on the last day and wore one of our hats. We look like tossers wearing bright green and gold all over including knee high socks but when the tickets are free who cares haha.

Brilliant. Go wild pal, most yanks need a whack anyway.

Speith, De Jonge and Timmy Clark this week.

All confirmed for the Presidents cup fly in the Wednesday night, apparently the International captain Nicky Price has convinced the PGA to pick up our tab for the whole 5 days bloody laughing. So keep an eye out for us lads, approximatly 12-15 of us all in the same kit all Aussies and a couple of Saffas beliting out a few tunes.

Hahahahaaa superb!

I'm on Tim Clark too. He's finished 6th and 2nd here before and he's not in bad nick right now. 50/1 in a weakened field is sweet. I'm also on Sabbatini and Matt Jones. I can't leave Zach Johnson alone but he's only 14/1 so i've took him as FRL at 25/1 instead. He's been right up there after round one in many events this year. I'll look to nibble at him if he starts slowly but is still in touch with the pack as well, especially if his odds touch anywhere near 25/33s as he can go low when he wants.

So close with Speith losing in the play off still another profitable week as had him e.w at 45/1 but still would of liked the win.

Unlucky pal! I had Jones and Zach but they were tied 5th so the returns are diminished. Profit is profit though. Back to the bread and butter on the European Tour for me.

Cabrera-Bello, JB Hansen & Scott Jamieson for me in Scotland. Was tempted with 35/1 for Olesen but his form has been so rough that realistically he should be double that.

Keegan Bradley, Rory & Nick Watney in the Barclays. Watney at 125/1 is just too good to resist, again his form has been poor but he's got a decent record at up state courses and it's a speculative punt. Rory at 22/1 is worth a bite as well, he looks to be starting to find some form and this time last year he threw some unbelievable golf out.

I've got Keegan and Cabrera-Bello in a £5 e/w double too. Pays £9000 hahahaa.

Scott Piercy top 20 is 7/1?? Crazy, he came T5 in the USPGA, gone £20 on that.

Two first round leader bets are Soren Hansen and Gary Boyd, both love Gleneagles but both are in horrific form. 125/1 and 200/1 respectively.

Ive tipped a few players this week who need ''big weeks'' to move forward to the Deutsche Bank Championship in the fedex cup playoffs

Ernie Els- Languishing in the Fedex cup standings, surely due a big week in the US after a solid european campaign. Showed a few good signs at Wyndham last week and will certainly not want to end his playoff campaign.

Nick Watney- A poor season relatively speaking for a man with such talent, but did win this event last year during a similar period of average play. His driving game is very impressive and should in theory make plenty of birdies around Liberty National if he keeps the driver straight.

Camillo Villegas- My real outsider pick. The colombian has had very solid previous playoff campaigns and finally looks like he is showing signs of life after a 2 year slump. With his card in place for next year, im sure he can kick on and place for me at the Barclays.

Another frustrating week in the golf. I had Matthew Nixon in the top 5 going in to the last round and had a nightmare and finished way off the pace. Then to make matters even worse Sergio Garcia who was leading for pretty much off of the tournament in the US had a shocking last round and finished T4. Awful doo.

Not been able to watch much golf let alone punt on it atm.

Did see Freddy Couples captains picks for the presidents cup were Speith and Simpson, which is massive for Speith getting picked over the likes of Bubba, Watney, Fowler just to name a few. Price went with Leishman and De Jonge which was easy to predict only other option was maybe Timmy Clark but his lack of distance off the tee was going to hurt. Pretty excited for it to come around now even tho on paper we should cop a hiding.

Please give Leishman a big wet sloppy kiss from me for the dough he won me at Augusta, cheers Roo.

Cant help but think that from a US point of view, someone with the power of a Dustin Johnson or Bubba is a valuable weapon in fourball golf.

Good picks for Price and his internationals, but can only see them on the end of a big defeat im afraid.

Couldn't pick my own nose at the minute, but we'll battle on regardless.

KLM: Pablo Larrazabal 125/1, Tom Lewis 125/1, Max Kieffer 225/1, Padraig Harrington 66/1

Larrazabal is absolutely huge at 125/1 and was cut in to about 80's once the bookies realised how good he is at playing on windy courses. He's having a horrible season but has still posted a few top ten finishes, albeit several months ago. He's a winner and he'll find his form again at some point. Well worth a punt at that price.

Tom Lewis is another whose early promise has led to some frustrating golf in the past year and people are wondering if he'll fulfill his potential. He's posted a few top 20 finishes in recent weeks and he's shot some good scores but just struggles for consistency over 72 holes. I believe it'll come togetehr for him soon and he'll challenge for tournaments, so at that price he's a must.

Max Kieffer is having a steady season this year, he's got a huge amount of ability and he'll be a multiple winner on tour in years to come. His price is ridiculous and having read an interview with him where he says he loves this course, it's a no brainer to have a dabble.

Padraig Harrington is and always will be a class golfer, a multiple major winner and at 66/1 is outrageous. He says that this course has many similarities with one of his home courses in Ireland and the jackpot alarm went off for me. He's not finished in the winners enclosure and on the European Tour he's still extremely dangerous. Big e/w bet here.

BMW:

Bubba Watson 66/1, Marc Leishman 150/1, Nick Watney 110/1, Luke Donald 45/1

Quite simply Bubba, Watney and Donald have all been punching well below their weight and if all 3 go the whole year without a win it would be ridiculous. Some golf gamblers only back in form players and I can see the logic in that but as a man who looks for value and the buzz of a big winner, I can't resist looking at quality proven players who will spring in to life at any given moment. Donald has shown signs of improvement with 2 top 5 finishes in recent weeks and Watney had a solid tournament a few weeks back where he wasn't far off the pace. Bubba has been well below par but as a huge hitter and aggressive player, I can see him punishing this course. I've thrown Leishman in as he's a solid driver of the ball and short game man. If he gets his iron play going then he'll put in a huge week like he did at Augusta in April.

A profitable week at last but it could have been so much better if Larrazabal hadn't inexplicably shot 79 on Saturday. I had him in doubles with Watney, Donald and Bubba so you can imagine how sickened I am as all he needed to do was shoot level par and he'd have won. I thought Watney was going to somehow pinch it last night, a magical round from the lad and i'm chuffed he's finding some form. Had he not bogeyed and parred 2 easy par 5's last night he'd have got the job done as well but beggers can't be choosers his place returned me £300 and Donald £120. So i'm about £285 up on the week.

There won't be a great deal of value about at The Tour Championship this week so i'll be focusing more on the Italian Open.

Tour Championships with such a limited field opens things up to the whole field to potentially win which isnt an ideal scenario.

I may turn attentions to Web.com tour finals, try and find someone who needs a big big week to try and get their card for next season back

flair hope you were on ya favourite golfer! He is certainly having a great month or so of form

Hahahaaa I'm not sure if you read my post in the main betting thread last Thursday but I've hit rock bottom gambling and faced up to it that I've got a problem. I lost over 4 figures on Wednesday night. I was and still am absolutely sickened and will do everything possible to not gamble again. I want to stop, it's become a real problem.

Anyway I'd still bloody had £25 e/w on Stenson at 16/1 beforehand so that was a small consolation to what I'd lost. So I'm signing off with that. I'm investing my time and efforts in to some less destructive hobbies.

It's been a blast Roo and I'll still be heavily watching golf but without the betting element, hopefully it'll be far more enjoyable from a neutral point of view.

Enjoy the presidents pal!!!
