Looks like I've picked 4 golfers to bet on with the aim of all making the cut and a few being in the mix.

All 4 made the cut, and it's looking like I've picked 1st and 2nd. Lovely.

Three up and you ****ed it up

If youre talking about Westwood id hardly call it f*****g up when a guy has compiled a beautiful 66, to tie the lowest round of the week, on a sunday at the open.

Phil played the closing holes magnificently and is a more than worthy champion. 5 majors now for lefty and only the US Open remaining for a career major slam.

That was phenomenal from Mickleson. Westwood couldn't get much going but even if he did he'd have struggled to shoot level par today and force a play-off. Greasy Phil crept up and then went bang.

I knew Westwood wouldn't maintain his prior performances.

Pleased for Poulter to get back into it in the fashion he did today and be among the more better overall players today..

Shame McIlroy is on a 'blip' of form.

Im from the same town as Westwood, I think he still lives here. Literally a 5 minute drive from my house, his house is massive.

Gotta be on Big Phil for Muirfield. Went so close

Last time. Casey might be worth an EW shout for me. If Westwood can sort his putter out he will contend.

Is Muirfield a long course? Because if Tiger can avoid the driver 8/1 is a smashing price.

Just ordered one of those putters Zach Johnson uses, nearly bought one back in the day but decided now's the time. Tried one before and they really suited my game. End of an era for my Titleist Napa.

After a shocking Open, I bounced back with Snedeker and Haveret getting me a little bit back e.w at sizeable odds.

Well done pal. I got Kaleka place which was a good return but pissed off with Chris Kirk who was finely poised for a place and therefore the e/w double but he had a chop.

You seen that lad in the golfbettingsystem that had the Snedeker/Hoey double? £10 e/w has won over 10k. ANIMAL

Nice i did look at Kaleka, but i didn't think a German would do well in Russia haha

Yeah did see that, what a great get for that bloke.

I am all over Jason Day for this weeks WGC at Firestone. He's now based in Ohio so it's a home tournament for him and he's finished 4th here before in 2011. I can see him having a monster week ahead of the USPGA and i'd love to know the odds of him winning both. He's 35/1 for the WGC so i've gone £25 e/w on him, i'm not fooking about this week.

Schwartzel and Van Pelt will also get a few quid too.

That two bit event the Reno Tahoe is a bloody stableford event, hahahahaaa.

I've looked at the previous years form has haven't a clue and Josh Teater has two top 10's in it and at 66/1 is good value. He's fairly high up in birdie averages which gets you the points in this event. Chad Campbell is in good form recently, especially in weaker events and he's steady in the sense he won't card 7 bogeys in a round and loads of birdies, so he's another option at potentially posting a decent score.

I havent backed anything at Firestone, but I have the feeling McIlroy will have a good week. Theres nothing to suggest this form wise, but i have that inkling he will do something like he did last year.

At Reno-Tahoe, someone like Pat Perez could be good value. Aggressive style, can get hot (in more ways than one).

Just as a side note, to the golf nuts here, any ideas where Spencer Levin went? never see his name EVER and i used to like watching his entertaining outbursts and his homegrown hand eye co-ordination swing

He's been out injured for about a year, but just googled it and he made a return on the web.com tour recently and finished 2nd in an event.

Just been the range tonight for a serious session. Been fighting a big draw for a while now and it's even creeping in to the majority of my iron play which I never had a problem with. I've often hit a draw with my woods which has always been a help for distance, but i've liked to keep my irons straight not just for accuracy but for ease. I think I have fathomed out what I was doing wrong, my swing has a slight loop/drop at the top of the backswing like Sergio used to have but it sometimes turns a bit Jim Furyk. If my timing is off then I can be wild. I think i've just got a bit to flat and swung round my body, dropped the club at the start of the downswing and it's led to an array of right to left shots, some good and some horrid. I've concentrated on imagining taking the club on the outside, which is actually more straight back and come over the top slightly, which resulted in some powerful shots with a touch of draw. I'll keep working on it. It did lead to me coming in a bit steep on my driver and fairway wood though and roofing a few, need to keep an eye on that if I stick with this swing notion for a while.

What might help reduce the draw down is to try and ingrain the feeling of "swinging left" more through the hit.

Youre on the right lines with your feeling of "coming over the top". It FEELS to you like youre coming over the top, but if your ball still starts right and then draws left, youre still swinging from the inside, just a lot less.

The FEELING youve got is of swinging over the top, but in reality your "normal" swing being too much inside, your "over the top" swing is not really over the top, just more on plane.

A former tour pro once told me that he believed a good way of ingraining the feel of getting back onto plane was to take a square aim at a target and try and hit a deliberate pull-cut towards it.

Now of course, a pull-cut/pull-fade is quite an ugly shot, but it exaggerates the feeling of swinging left through the hit more and encouraging more shaft lean with the ball starting left and either holding the line or cutting. Once the pull-cut is there, then you dial it back till eventually youre hitting a soft cut or straight ball.

Of course, 90% of recreational golfers would LOVE to be suffering from the hooks, so youre going great guns bud

Cheers for the advice mate, what you've said makes total sense and i'll give it a try. Everyone has their 'thoughts' and 'exagarrations' that they know will correct their swing, that's the only way amateur golfers who play to a half decent standard can survive without forking out decent wedge for tuition.

I've also thrown Angel Cabrera in to the mix for the WGC. At 70/1 he's got to be backed, he's got a win up his sleeve soon and it'll no doubt be a biggie.

Money back with paddys if Tiger or Phil win.

I saw that, isn't it only if your pick finishes 2nd to one of them? Woods is absolutely no odds at 9/2 anyway. Mickleson to win 3 on the spin? It's do-able.
