Yep, that's right i did use the contentious word MOSQUE, which as I mentioned is located in Jerusalem - Which I'm sure you're aware is not actually in Leicester or indeed england or even the uk For the record and before anyone asks - I don't take sides in the Palestinian / Iraeli issue - I have great sympathy for the innocent peoples on both sides who have to live with the situation At the end of the day both sides - or their elected leaders are to pig headed to back down and agree to a workable compromise

Ask a gay and they could name you some. Ask someone who is disabled and they could name you some. The fact is these things are usually set up to look after the minority groups and 95% of the people on here don't belong to one. I respect and agree with lots of things lush and Thracian say, but i'm getting a little bored of the constant posting about race issues. There have been so many I am really starting to wonder if there a darker undertones to your posts (no pun intended). I'm sure you will both come on here and shoot me down in flames as you are both obviously very well educated, but it's just the way it is coming across.

Secondly, educated or not I've always found your posts interesting and worthwhile, indeed something I look forward to reading. Thirdly I don't think I have written on race issues (having no problem with people of any race whatsoever) I do wish that issues of religion and War and terrorism would disappear. But with people being bombed and policemen pumping bullets into suspects on our streets etc I worry very deeply about what is happening to our country and make no apology for trying to impress on people how important it is to fight (and I don't mean killing people) for what we have and for our way of life. The Inter Milan match cancellation represents an example of terrorism directly denying us something which we were looking forward to and something which was to be a part of our way of life. How do you feel about that?

Rincewind Posted 23 July 2005 Posted 23 July 2005 Some people would use that list as a way of turning people against Muslims in this country. I have no religious leanings towards any faith but I believe that the Islamic faith is mainly one of peace. The top Islamic clerics disassociate themselves from the terrorists. These people are using Muslims faith in their religion to justify their evil deeds. Much the same as church leaders did when they burnt 'witches' at the stake. I do not believe in God but I do believe that religeon is basiclly there for a good cause. It's the extremists that put me off.

My admiration for these people is boundless and without qualification. I hope their stance gives the weak ones in our community (particularly the politicians and anti-England apologists) the strength of purpose to effectively oppose and deal with the terrorists and the fundamentalists (not always quite the same thing).
TrickyTrev Posted 23 July 2005 Posted 23 July 2005 Don'y be a twat. I am sur eif you named every Christian association in Leicester there would be a list at leats as long. What is your point? There are a lot of muslims in leciester? Well done, I feel so educated foe that. I dislike religion and dislike fundaMENTALism even more so, be it Christianity, Muslim or whatever. However, I can't tolerate hatred and bigotry towards peoples choice of religion.

The biggest talking point in England today is about the islamic faith. THIS thread is about just that, islam. There are many many racial disturbances that go unreported by the `popular` media. If you feel its being discussed a little too much, your probably not aware of the enourmous subject that it is? I would never come down on you when you make a good point, and thanks for the compliment too

The islamic foundation was once described as the most influencial outpost of milatant islamist ideology in the west , it was also a key player in the creation of the muslim council of britain (MCB), in 1997. kurshid ahmad, believes that islam is not only a religion, but a political manefesto for changing the world . The founder of jamatee islame, sieed madude, says "the truth is that islam is a revolutionary ideology which seeks to alter the social order of the entire world and rebuild it in conformity with its own tenets and ideals". kurshid ahmad, is vice president of jamatee islame. I wonder what you think of kurshid ahmad, a man that lives in your neighbourhood, your city, your country, and wants to change/force the way you live, into an islamic culture and belief/sharia (holy law)? Hes so powerfull, that prince charles saluted him on a visit to Leicester last year.
