FoxesAreBlue Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 Hi, It's rare for me to go on a bit of a crusade like this, and I know that this should probably be in the General Football and Sport forum but I think it will get a bit more exposure here. Mods, if you feel compelled to move it, feel free. In essence, the Don Valley athletics stadium has had close to the final nail in its coffin. As the training base of national treasure Jess Ennis, not to mentn the hundreds if kids and future medal hopefulls that train there, I was hoping you could sign this ePetition to save it... bmt Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 I remember going to watch Paulo Sousa's Leicester there inflict a soul-destroying 2-1 demolition on Rotherham there in pre season. Aman Verma was my star of the show. The lights went out but that didn't stop the promotion party. EDIT: done.
accessory Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 It's reported that Jessica Ennis receives around £5m in sponsorship deals. She could easily use some of that cash to keep the stadium going. But as someone who saw one of the worst City performances in our history there (the 2008 JPT defeat), I'm not too distressed to see it shut.
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I think this was the first stadium I ever went to.

Leicesterpool Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I've heard gossip that one of her sponsors might buy the stadium for her.

How about the Labour council uses some of the 2million they are spending on refurbishing their own town hall meeting rooms to cover it instead?
AoWW Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I've heard gossip that one of her sponsors might buy the stadium for her. Gossip from who?
21st Century Fox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I've heard gossip that one of her sponsors might buy the stadium for her. It's you isn't it Leicesterpool. You've been combining all that wrist action over Jessica Ennis with regular deposits to the sperm bank, now you've amassed a fortune and will try to buy your way into her affection. Well played sir.
