LCFC fans obsessions with 'bust-ups'

Recommended Posts

Sven took over from Sousa but was able to attract International quality, for high fees. Yakubu, Naughton, Davies etc. but I believe we didn't look like a team under Sven, he was rightly sacked IMO. Promotion was a possibility when Nige returned, bur not only was it not his team, the squad was full of overpaid players who thought they were better then they were (Bamba, Mills, Beckford).

Nigel had a tough job, the job we don't see, the job in the background with the finances. That job shouldn't be underrated.

In terms of Southampton, they must if spent more than us. Our biggest buy was Wellens, yet Southampton attracted Billy Sharp for more than £2million. They also had Lambert, a player that Pearson wanted here, who scored 20+. Of course it is an overachievement for any team to climb two leagues in two seasons, something we early did. Also, lets not forget, Pearson guided us to first place at our first attempt in league one. How many teams haven't achieved promotion after getting relegated to league one? Southampton, Swindon, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, Nottingham Forest etc (many big clubs).

Promotion from league one was the minimum requirement. Not achieving it would have been a failure. Those other clubs not achieving it failed. I don't want us judging our performance against the failures of others or of ourselves. I want our standards to be higher than that.

Great post.. Also add Man City and Sheffield United to that list

Man City were promoted at the first attempt.

"Oi, you! Random person I've only 'run into a few times'. Come here, I want to trust you with some information that could potentially ruin my career."

Well yes, I was quite shocked and in fairness, he was obviously very frustrated. He didn't seem drunk but considering the time, its possible he'd been drinking.

Whoever said it was attention seeking - not at all. I don't care if you believe me or not. Some people may find it interesting so I'm passing it on.

Doesn't affect or bother me one jot whether someone believes it or not. What is a bit galling is the assertion that I would need to make up nonsense.

If you don't want to believe it, then don't. It happened, but I don't need to prove it and also have nothing to gain in doing so.

Good piece in the More Mercury about Walshy including the bust-ups that he had with O'Neill. At the end of the day, they liked and respected each other. Who cares whether it happens with Pearson or not? I'm sure the majority of it is complete rubbish, I'm sure he's had to kick a few up the backside and I'm just as sure that some of them didn't want to listen or had a go back. That doesn't necessarily amount to a bust-up or headbutt. The ones that listen will still have a place at the club, the ones that don't will end up like Matt Mills.

Not as champions! A scrapy penalty shoot out win, we easily won the league

Do you know what? I lied. None of it ever happened. I was never in Nottingham that weekend and I have no idea if AK was either.

Any facebook evidence to the contrary are photoshopped and everything I've said on that and every other matter should be immediately disregarded.

Hope that cheers some of you up.

I mean WTF? :dunno:

Just trying to cheer you up. I can't be bothered with you lot and I can see why Bert never passes on what he hears, or at least is reluctant about doing so.

Footballers are human. Frustrated footballers in another city who might have had a few beers and run in to a guy who knows who they are but gives them a bit of respect, they might just sound off to them, no? Ok, its unprofessional, but hey, I've sounded off about my job and that is unprofessional too. It does happen. Loose lips sink ships I know, but it occurs. Remember George Graham getting in to trouble at Spurs?

Anyway, I don't want to rock the boat any further. Just pretend it didn't happen. If you're blissfully ignorant and happy in your ignorance then who am I to enlighten you and ruin it?

No not attention seeking its just that a player who I can't name randomly came up to me and told me something I can't tell you.

Ok matey either put up what happened, or shut up.

Good

Surely we have a neat way of judging the "NFP bust-up" brigade by looking at how they have done since they were forced out by the evil dictator

Danns - currently the midfield powerhouse driving Huddersfield to mid-table obscurity (at best)

Beckford - anyone heard of any spectacular goal scoring feats in West Yorkshire this season? Me neither.

Mills - Bolton currently moving upwards to 9th - Mills not being selected by Freedman - injured but bolton were shipping goals for fun with this particular rock in defence

Gradel - who he?

Bamba - Ditto

Any more?

Its posted elsewhere, but it never happened anyway so I wouldn't worry about. All is great. NP and AK are best buddies and I expect AK will stick around forever.

You're not 'enlightening' us. You're posting vague bits and pieces hoping that we'll think that you're important. Knockaert is destined for better things. If we don't go up, he'll leave, if we go up and don't do a Swansea, he'll leave and then you can come back on here and sagely point to your earlier posts as evidence that you weren't spouting complete arse gravy.

Bore off.

Yes. Just attention seeking mate. Sorry.

Glad I got it!

AK loves the club and Pearson.

I mean, he probably does. I wouldn't know. I've never spoken to him in Alea Casino in Nottingham, not even last Saturday night/Sunday morning at about 4.15am.
