nlukka Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Could work out badly though. If we have a similar number of night games I'll be in a spot of bother. So yeah, taking a bit of a risk which I may regret. mate I come back from London too for home games. found trains too expensive for evening games as it means travelling at peak times. national express is a lot cheaper but just takes a lot longer too.

nlukka Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 How much longer? Might consider that. from Victoria around 3 hours and from Golders Green or Finchley Road 2 hours I always get the 3.30 from Victoria to get back for an evening game but if it's a friday get the 2.30 because there's always loads more traffic
ealingfox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 I've renewed even though I'm going to be living in London. Why? Cos I'm a fvcking maniac. Assuming you're a student you'll be fine, with the 16-25 Railcard you can get the train for very reasonable prices (10-15 quid). Only problem I've had is night games can be very tricky as the last train to London is pretty early, usually just before 10pm.
Matt Posted 19 May 2013 Author Posted 19 May 2013 I genuinely do have a feeling they will sell less for the next season. Many people are still smarting about the extended dip in form and about how it's yet another season of winning nothing. Plus, there's gonna be more football on TV. There are finally, fans of City that I talk to that genuinely are pissed off with the long ball stuff and watching some dour games of football. They also really don't like Pearson. I could be wrong, but I think some of the interest dies away season upon season. I guess we'll see... I didn't there would be as many season ticket holders for last year, I was wrong, I think there were just as many as previous season but I think the coming season there will be less season ticket holders, I have the same opinion as you that many are getting pissed off, disappointed, fed up, I certainly am. I sit in A2 `just the ticket' with my 13 yr old son. We've sat there for a few years now. At no point has Leics told us our tickets are no longer `just the ticket' and we either have to find another £100 for our ticket or move into the horrid corner. I found out by the guy who sits in front of me (20 yrs they've sat there and are not renewing). Anyway, I can't justify our tickets almost doubling in two years. My son turned 12 last yr so his ticket trebled. Mine went up £30. So with another £100 to find, I refused. I later realised that on top of this, they're scrapping the 10% family discount, unless you have two adults and one under 18. So in reality, my ticket this season will go up £160!!. Two yrs ago we paid around £300, now they want £590. Yes we could move, but I don't see why we should pay an extra £60 to move into worse seats with a worse view and a cricked neck!. I have complained and got a call from the fanzone folk, who agree it seems unfair, but can do nothing about it. So I guess that's it. My quality time with my son over. Thanks a bunch Leics. We really aren't fans to you any more - just a customer. Why don't they advertise the facts and not the sugar coated version?. `95% price freeze'? Rubbish. More like 95% will go up 10% because not many families bring two parents and one child. `Doubling the just the ticket area' - Rubbush - MOVING just the ticket into worse area. The sales guy was also very unhelpful and told me I should check and read all the terms and conditions of the season ticket and find out myself if my ticket price has increased and that everyone else around me has renewed and paid the extra - rubbish says the fazone. I give in. Every time I try and compromise, they seem to find another brick wall. I wonder also if we did relocate, would they then add another £60 for having to issue us with new cards!!!!!! I am in the same position, £100 more than I paid last year? After the disappointment of the second half of this season, playing in relegation form for the last 17 games, with alot of games moved for Sky (Out of the clubs hands but its still a factor towards me strongly considering whether to renew or not), regardless that we made the playoffs and granted the last 3 games of the season were exciting but it doesn't make up for the 2nd half of the season. I appriciate the extra deadline the club have gave because it gives me extra time to consider, I'm not saying I won't renew but it's going to be touch a go, no doubt i'll leave it to last minute and it'll be an impulse decision either way.
foxaholic Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Thanks for the advice, and yes I'm going to plan my travel times, routes etc. in advance of each game. The plus side is that there are going to be a number of very accessible away games in my area. The last train south is too early for night games unless you leave a few minutes before and sprint. People from Harborough Kettering Wellingborough all have to use cars or miss out
ray Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Are you sure they've sat there for 20 years? Well so they so, but after 20 years, they're starting to look like they could do with a good shave and a proper meal!. Sick of having to eat pies every meal too. I'm sure they're looking forward to some home comforts again now they've been kicked out.
