shiv Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 So I came out of my exam, went straight to the pub and got fairly drunk. Came straight on here when I got home to find out Pearson is staying. Although I did turn against him during our dreadful run (which I'll happily admit), the man deserves a chance to lead us out next season. He made some mistakes this season - substitutions, tactics, personnel changes and whatnot... But I genuinely feel with a couple of good signings we can be a strong force next season. This might be the alcohol talking, but I'm glad he's staying and hope proves his haters wrong next season (although I'll be the first to admit I was fairly against him during our awful run). COYB!!!!

I was in two minds about his future, though I was adamant that he should go if we didn't get promotion this year after the way we just capitulated from February onwards, and I especially wanted rid of him on sunday afternoon. On reflection however, I've decided that he should stay. He's built a promising team that hopefully he can build on this summer and hopefully next season we'll have a strong enough team to do it. For another reason - getting rid of him now would be foolish. We have a chance of keeping certain big name players with him in charge but we'd definitely lose them if we sacked him. It would also guarantee us at least another season or two in the championship when the next manager or three builds their own team and quite frankly I'm bored of changing managers more often than I change my boxers. Managers in general don't get enough time so I think we should be a bit more patient and have a wee bit more faith in him. Let's give him one more season to do it, but if we're left heartbroken again this time next year he should go.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 Where's it say that he's staying? urban.spaceman Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 As that was all his fault yeh? Well no, it wasn't, but I was in a bit of a mood on sunday (and monday) and I allowed it to cloud my judgement somewhat...

So where`s the good news?
shiv Posted 18 May 2013 Author Posted 18 May 2013 So where`s the good news? No idea. Me after a few drinks and facebook/twitter/foxestalk don't mix well. I think I was trying to convince myself it's good news he's staying. I've always been 50-50 about Pearson but think the owners have made the right call in sticking with him.
Vlad the Fox Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 I think this was a case of people hearing about apparent meeting, putting two and two together trying to be the first out the blocks with the story and getting 5.
