Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Locate the Leicester location ( name the road ) rep point for all 5 correct edit; rep point for each correct answer might be better.

Webbo Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Locate the Leicester location ( name the road ) rep point for all 5 correct edit; rep point for each correct answer might be better. Is 1. on Fosse Road? 2. looks a bit like The Wyvern.
Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Is 1. on Fosse Road? 2. looks a bit like The Salutation. yes its the old Methodist church (now flats) fosse road north , well spotted edit not the salutation , but a very similar name in a way

Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 5 is Braunstone Avenue / Wyngate Drive is 3 Corah's? (or whatever it's called now?) 5 is braunstone avenue , it's not corahs
Webbo Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Number 3 looks East Park Roadish. You've got me on 2. saying a similar name to The Salutation. I was thinking the Wyvern or the Full Moon.
OzFox Posted 24 August 2013 Author Posted 24 August 2013 Locate the Leicester location ( name the road ) rep point for all 5 correct edit; rep point for each correct answer might be better. You should have thrown your own house in there for a laugh. Or maybe you did.....
Guest MattP Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Cracks me up, millions tourists flock there, anyone who has lived there will realise how beautiful it is and how green it is with so many beautiful parks, full of history, if it was in another country everyone in the UK would be raving about it, but most just take the uneducated view on all british cities and churn out the same old tripe 'its a shithole'. Why don't you sell up your place in the sticks and move? It is a dump. I love going down for footy cricket etc but I'd never in a million years swop a village for that hole.
Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Number 3 looks East Park Roadish. You've got me on 2. saying a similar name to The Salutation. I was thinking the Wyvern or the Full Moon. by similar i meant in a "heraldic" sort of way it's no more than a hundred or so yards from the wyvern 4 is St. Saviours Rd / Mere Rd yes well spotted
Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 You should have thrown your own house in there for a laugh. Or maybe you did..... here you go , but no one would have guessed it was on beaumont leys lane
Webbo Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 by similar i meant in a "heraldic" sort of way it's no more than a hundred or so yards from the wyvern I've worked it out, it's The Coronation. I know that area and I knew I knew the building but the name doesn't ring a bell.
Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 I've worked it out, it's The Coronation. I know that area and I knew I knew the building but the name doesn't ring a bell. yes that's it coronation on "catherine street" . i blurred the name as i thought it was a giveaway for the name of the street here's the original i can see why you said east park road for number 3, it does look a bit like the imperial typewriters or one of those big factories . i'm not sure but i think the factory in pic number 3 used to be a "Dunlop" factory .
OzFox Posted 24 August 2013 Author Posted 24 August 2013 here you go , but no one would have guessed it was on beaumont leys lane Lovely. You need one of those Leicester City garden gnomes to top it off though. Maybe stick it on that little shelf by the door
Zingari Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Lovely. You need one of those Leicester City garden gnomes to top it off though. Maybe stick it on that little shelf by the door Good idea, but when we were stopping in Leicester we didn't like to leave valuables outside the van. There were too many fookin thieves around !! It's not what we considered a desirable place to stay.
MooseBreath Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Nearly went to live in London when I was younger but did a couple of years travelling instead. Reckon I would have loved it in my early 20s, and I'd still probably love it now if I was earning £150k plus. But on a lesser salary I reckon the drudgery would soon overpower the buzz.

You wouldn't have like living in London with all those soft southern poofs , all mincing around in frocks and make up . You did the right thing
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 8/10. London is so large and diverse. There are some dreadful places, and there are some lovely places. One cannot honestly lump London as one place, in such terms as like or dislike.

One cannot honestly lump London as one place, in such terms as like or dislike. That's very true. When I'm back there I either stay in Chiswick (cafe culture/village atmosphere/ yummy mummy central) or Kilburn (muggers paradise). It's quite a contrast.
OzFox Posted 30 August 2013 Author Posted 30 August 2013 In the same vein... Where's Damascus. The US and UK are probably about to bomb it. Do you know where it is? http://toys.usvsth3m.com/damascus/ 205 miles away. Not too shabby. Bet the Americans would be really good at this....
