absolutelegend Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 102 miles away - I put that down to inaccuracies of the map / pointer
Jon the Hat Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 Arse I got Aleppo not Damascus. 170 miles away.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 Saying London is a shithole genuinely does make you a moron. Really it does. "Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."— Samuel Johnson You can claim it is too expensive to afford the type of life you want of course, but London is in no way shape or form a shithole.

He said that about 250 years ago , things both in London and around the rest of the world have changed slightly since then

Agree some of it is not. I will clarrify; the vast majority of London is a shithole. That better?
Alf Bentley Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 6/10....About as expected, seeing as it's 25 years since I lived there.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 He said that about 250 years ago , things both in London and around the rest of the world have changed slightly since then yes indeed! London has got a whole lot more interesting since then!! Agree some of it is not. I will clarrify; the vast majority of London is a shithole. That better? Don't be ridicuous of course the vast majority of london is not a shithole. Some parts are.
Zingari Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 yes indeed! London has got a whole lot more interesting since then!! Don't be ridicuous of course the vast majority of london is not a shithole. Some parts are. Are you using the word "interesting" in the old Chinese curse sense?
I am Rod Hull Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 In the same vein... Where's Damascus. The US and UK are probably about to bomb it. Do you know where it is? http://toys.usvsth3m.com/damascus/ 205 miles away. Not too shabby. Bet the Americans would be really good at this.... Duma, 21 miles away
Zingari Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 When someone asked me where I thought Damascus was , I said I think it's in aisle 3 , next to the the disinfectant and bleaches.

If the map had been bigger I'd have got nearer.
Finnegan Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 Lived in London for three years and have visited endless times since. Been North, South, West, bit of the East. Some of it's brilliant, some of its a dump. To call it one or the other as a matter of fact is retarded. It's impossibly big, I think people who've not lived there struggle to get their heads round that.

I always thought it was John Betjemen that said that. Learn something new every day
Guest MattP Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 53 miles, not a bad effort, think I might have got closer had the map been bigger.
Webbo Posted 30 August 2013 Posted 30 August 2013 That map is so small that a millimetre must be the equivalent of 100miles, the span of the little hand must be around 3 or 4 hundred miles. It's virtually impossible to get it spot on.

OzFox Posted 30 August 2013 Author Posted 30 August 2013 Yep, I just tried it again clicking on the same spot and the cursor had me 300 miles away. Maybe the yanks are using the same map. Might explain all the collateral damage everytime they attack someone
