Third best pass % in the side (86.4%)

Fourth in goals (1)

Joint third in assists (1)

Fourth in shots per game (1.7)

Second in tackles per game (2.2)

Fourth in interceptions per game (1.1)

Second in dribbles per game (0.7)

Fourth in blocks per game (0.5)

Sixth in key passes per game (0.9)

Eighth most dispossed per game (0.9)

Drinkwater has a lower pass % but importantly he makes more passes 56 (6th most in the league) than king 46.

how many of those Drinkwater passes are the Wellens special of firing a ball straight back at the player that just gave it to you cus he has 2 men tackling him? He does that a hell of a lot, its King who switches play more then Drinkwater

I'm always in two minds about pass statistics. Players who create and try and beat players are going to have a worse statistic than players who pass back or sidewards.

He hasn't got the pace to play behind the striker.

neither did Frank Lampard, King is a similar type of player, doesn't need to out pace anyone put if allowed forward will get 15+ goals a season

King is a classy midfielder who never lets us down, loves the club, works hard, never complains and has given us the funniest thread ever solely based on his face, yet the amount of critisism he gets is unreal.

I think he's exactly the sort of guy you want in your squad.

Drinkwater has scored more and created more goals than King this season.

what exactly does that prove to what I was saying? King in Pearson's 442 system is the holding midfielder, not expected to create or really score goals, Drinkwater should have more of both in this system, I said neither he nor Wellens before him do enough of either.

I wouldn't drop Drinkwater for the record, I simply wouldn't play 442, bring in either Hammond or James to sit, Drinkwater still does his current role but Andy King does what he did in the Sousa/Sven season when he was our top scorer and player of the season, helps out defensively but concentrates mainly on supporting the attack and getting into the opposing penalty box to score goals, he is the best midfielder we have at doing this, it is his best role, but we are limiting him and IMO us by insisting on 442 no matter who we play

Don't agree with the drinkwater comment. He's been our standout central midfielder this season and is a more positive passer than kingy, hence his pass completion is lower as he takes more risks.

Don't think he gets enough criticism to be fair.If you say a bad word against him your looked upon like a twat that knows nothing about the game.

You don't think he gets enough criticism? Christ on a bike! You've been on FT before right?
