Jimmy Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Nigel Pearson has ALWAYS used King to sit deep and mop up in front of the back 4 whilst Wellens and now Drinkwater do the attacking, the problem is neither of the other 2 offer enough goals or create enough. I firmly believe we should have a 3 man midfield of Hammond to hold, King to go box to box and Knockaert to pull the strings either in a 352 or a 433 but Pearson seems obsessed with sticking Knockaert on the right wing of a 442
Soup Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Thanks for that. Fleckneymike, you still wearing your brand new Leicester top.You always buy the latest top don't you.Bless ya.
svensson Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 It seems me that if anybody criticises King they seem to be jumped on and told that they know nothings about football,as if the King lovers are being insulted for this and must tell us all about how great he is.People seem over protective of him,a bit like a weedy brother.People see different things in all players,as do managers but the King debate has the most polar opposites,it makes me laugh.I personally never have favourite players,it's enough for me to follow my team up and down the country,i love it when we win hate it when we lose.Do people actually study him off the ball were he supposing does his best work. Now that is a bit sad really,do we all want to be pundits. Not me thanks,I want a few beers and good sing song and to jump up and down when we score.I shall do this until my time is up,and won't bother debating which player is best.Boring. Cool story bro... there is more to watching a game than following a ball, why not try it? You may learn a thing or two...
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 No he wasn't. He said he only read the one line, and then that which was unread, was a pack of lies. The bloke isn't very clever. Well clearly what he wrote was going to be said in anger and extremly lopsided based on the one result and there for what ever was written wasn't going to be a factual account of his thoughts on Andy King as a whole. Instead it was going to be based on one game and one game only. So maybe instead of calling me unclever maybe call the op unclever for his timing of the thread, you can never take some ones opinion serious when that is there first line. As i've said numerous times this forum is full of people who are at one end of the spectrum when we win and at the other end when we lose, never any middle ground.

You may learn a thing or two...Each to there own I suppose,I'm not interested in how a game of football is won.I go to the game to get away from life for a while.Work can consume me sometimes and Saturdays is my day.Was just saying debating a player isn't for me.But I guess people do.

pazzerfox Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Scored for Wales...Needs to start scoring more for us!!
Soup Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Thanks for that That's my pleasure, but there's no need to thank me.
Jimmy Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Scored for Wales...Needs to start scoring more for us!! needs to start being allowed to get forward as much as he used to then, he is the deeper player when playing with Drinkwater so cannot score more
rico Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Just scored for wales. His attempted clearance also lead to Finlands equalser
Bayfox Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 His attempted clearance also lead to Finlands equalser a goal and an assist.
pazzerfox Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 needs to start being allowed to get forward as much as he used to then, he is the deeper player when playing with Drinkwater so cannot score more Nigel has stated that Kingy role has not changed since playing with Drinkwater and gets forward as much as he did previously. His best season was 2010-2011 where he scored 12 playing in midfield with Wellens who in my opinion is similar to Drinky.

Guest Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 He just doesn't gurn for his national team photos like he does for City, pity
Johnny Cash Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 King was pushed forward in the second half vs Watford and looked so comfortable and dangerous. Wasted box to box as Knockeart is on the ring.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 King was pushed forward in the second half vs Watford and looked so comfortable and dangerous. Wasted box to box as Knockeart is on the ring.Typo aside I agree with this.I must be one of the only people on here who thinks King looks a far more dangerous player in the opposition's final third. Although he has improved in his defensive work, I think he's wasted when having to track back so often. Andy King, making those late bursts into the oppositions penalty box, is the best Andy King IMO. I'd go as far as to say that he's one of the best players in the division for getting into the box, unseen, to convert a 'half-chance'. His goal return over the past two seasons shows how much this aspect of his game has been wrecked.
Corky Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 His attempted clearance also lead to Finlands equalser Wouldn't say it was a clearance, he was in the opposition half. Should've done better with it, the Wales defence behind him didn't cover themselves in glory either.
gazfox9 Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 I know. I'm not having this clubs have shown an interest him in the past. Prem clubs have never been shy in spending money on top championship players. He could never make It in the Prem. Take goals away from him and he's league one standard. "Take goals away and he's league one standard"??? That quote is possibly the most stupid I've ever read on foxestalk! PS, with that school of thought, how did you rate Gary Lineker?
Stadt Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Andy King is bottom half prem standard. Why isn't he there then?As much as I think King is a good player, he's not quite that level.
fleckneymike Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 Third best pass % in the side (86.4%) Fourth in goals (1) Joint third in assists (1) Fourth in shots per game (1.7) Second in tackles per game (2.2) Fourth in interceptions per game (1.1) Second in dribbles per game (0.7) Fourth in blocks per game (0.5) Sixth in key passes per game (0.9) Eighth most dispossed per game (0.9) Drinkwater has a lower pass % but importantly he makes more passes 56 (6th most in the league) than king 46.
Fox92 Posted 16 November 2013 Posted 16 November 2013 I'm always in two minds about pass statistics. Players who create and try and beat players are going to have a worse statistic than players who pass back or sidewards. King was pushed forward in the second half vs Watford and looked so comfortable and dangerous. Wasted box to box as Knockeart is on the ring. He hasn't got the pace to play behind the striker.
