AKCJ Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 A side went to a promotion rival and scored 1 and defended well to win. At the end of the season they won the division comfortably. This is the type of result we need. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20738186
Ian W LCFC Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 That's quite interesting actually. Cheers for posting. The signs are looking even more positive.
VLC86 Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Interesting comparison. We had more chances in today's game than Cardiff had that day. If we defend like we did today and show the same desire and ability that we have season to date elsewhere we won't be far away from where we need to be. Did anyone hear the stat that QPR have had the same back 5 for 15 consecutive games? We will have had probably 7 difference combos in that same period

VLC86 Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 They haven't had cup games to contend with, or injuries either. True, but you can't say we haven't chopped and changed outside of them situations
StanSP Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 True, but you can't say we haven't chopped and changed outside of them situations Nah I agree mate. Perhaps we chop and change a bit too much. Think today's 11 could possibly be our best 11. The only time I wouldn't mind if a change was made is when King comes in. Drinkwater is one of the first names on the team sheet I think. I don't mind if we change between King and James.
Wink Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 On Sky it was mentioned that we've only kept 2 clean sheets in the past 17 games, so today was a huge! Massive 3 points, great clean sheet and well taken goal by Vardy. If we can continue to show that same fight and bit of luck that we saw today then we will be right up there at the end of the season. Cant wait for the Reading game, tickets came today
Richard Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Also like to point out that the only changes between that game and this one for us was Moore in for Whitbread and James in for King.
Monk Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 That was the only game I made it to last season, and we were beaten by a ruthless side who played scrappy football. This season I wouldn't say we are as ruthless as Cardiff were last season, but I think if we played that fixture again (against last year's Cardiff) we would have come out on top.

In my opinion we are even less ruthless this season than last. Our poor results after Jan came from terrible football and performances. Our poor results over the past few weeks have come from a lack of finishing.
