MooseBreath Posted 19 February 2014 Author Posted 19 February 2014 It is all rhetoric...left wing equivalent of the Daily Fail. Also, I find it hilarious how both left wing and right wing nutters can evoke Godwins Law on comment threads. It really is an equal opportunities insult. Hardly equivalent, at least the dm is a somewhat professional organisation, that website looks like it was made by an old fairy from somewhere like Telford who spends his free time bumming goats.

Well, I was thinking more in terms of content rather than presentation. The comments section certainly mirrors the one on the DM website, only politically inverted.
Guest MattP Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 I've never been on benefits, nor have my family, you angry little man! I was obviously raised differently to you though. What is it you're so angry at? Genuine claimants who are entitled to benefits claiming them (in which case I assume you're against the welfare state), or people committing benefit fraud? The UK government estimates that total fraud across the whole of the economy amounts to £73 billion a year. UK government figures for 2012 estimate benefits overpaid due to fraud is £1.2 billion and tax credit fraud is £380 million. So just under £1.6 billion in total; less than 1% of the overall benefits and tax credits expenditure and less than benefits underpaid and overpaid due to error. I don't get angry at very poor people who are on benefits like you do, if i had to channel my anger somewhere, it would be at amazon, starbucks, and all the other companies you probably frequent regularaly, while you rant at people who live pretty crappy lives. Just what this thread needed, another pie chart (and a pointless appalling one to be honest) showing how some other fraud is far bigger than benefit fraud, you missed "most benefits are to low paid workers" btw. We need to be reminded. You have stated before you have been on benefits and now a denial? You need to remember what you are posting on here, am I angry? I don't think so, as I've said numerous times in this thread I generally just laugh at how pathetic these people are rather than get worked up about it, I don't see the point. Your last line yet again shows your ignorance of my opinions, I've stated numerous times I refuse to use big companies like that when I can buy from a local brand or a small business. I don't know how any middle to low earners can defend those that avoid paying taxes by moving their money offshore when they are paying the cost of hit. At least the few that scrounge at the bottom are paying taxes on booze and fags. You don't think high earners would more than cover the low earners in spend, have a look how much tax you pay on a bottle of champagne. You support the policies that allow people tp move their money to different countries untouched anyway so I don't know how you can moan at this. Couldn't stand that jumped up little socialist shit, who was on C4. Think he writes for the independent. Has some seriously flawed economic plans. think his name is Owen Jones Worst man on TV and seems to have become the go to man of the left wing press, same thing everytime, unions, nurses, doctors, teachers then an attack on bankers and Tories, his politics are from the stone age and fortunately no one ever sems to question him in detail how he would pay for his ideas. Wow Mark is a lazy git. He's not done anything since 2008? Fairplay he has a job now apparently. But surely even he could have gotten a job at McDonalds or something. Why would he? Knock out a kid or two and the taxpayer will pay for him to have a house, food, Iphone, fags and booze, no incentive. Average single childless Macdonalds worker probably wont be able to afford those.
bovril Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 I'm a bit of a lefty and I dislike Owen Jones, perfect journalist for the 'share and like' generation.

MooseBreath Posted 20 February 2014 Author Posted 20 February 2014 You do have sexual hangups don't you? No, it was a joke. I know jokes are difficult for you to pick up on though, so it's ok that you didn't understand. Having no friends to talk to must make it hard for you to keep up a sense of humour.

Strokes Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Do you know how often you "joke" about homosexuality? It's like an obsession for you. Is it a subject that particularly concerns you? I am sure he isnt directing it at you or any other homosexual, just a quip at the stereotype i think.
Zingari Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 i was more worried about the goats to be honest
Guest Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Is it a subject that particularly concerns you? I am sure he isnt directing it at you or any other homosexual, just a quip at the stereotype i think. Is that an attempt at a joke as well? I know that you're not very good at them. It surprises me that posts like these are accepted and proliferate. If Black was substituted for "homosexual" then they wouldn't be tolerated and persistent racism would see the poster banned. Seems homophobia isn't treated anything like racism on these boards. i was more worried about the goats to be honest I think that's Moosey's way of trying to pretend his homophobia is a joke.

MooseBreath Posted 20 February 2014 Author Posted 20 February 2014 Where's the homophobia, fif? I thought fairy was quite an affectionate term. Sensitive much?
ADK Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 I love how FIF has no problem belittling sufferers of mental illness but takes offense to the word "fairy".
MooseBreath Posted 20 February 2014 Author Posted 20 February 2014 I love how FIF has no problem belittling sufferers of mental illness but takes offense to the word "fairy". He's just a lonely old man trying to get my attention. Let him enjoy his little fantasy
The God Emperor Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 with all this homosexual activity it was no wonder it rained this afternoon!

An interesting walk through of how you can pocket a tidy sum on benefits as well.
ADK Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Is she actually on the sick though? If so it is a bit ridiculous but you almost feel like she's being milked (lovely thought) by the right wing media, a bit like Mick Philpott was, yet she's hardly indicative of the majority of claimants on disability.

Depressed and Bipolar we are told, though we still haven't seen any proof.

Alf Bentley Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2563069/Questions-Benefits-Streets-White-Dee-appear-TV-ill-work.html Good on the Mail and the Tories, hopefully the press can get on her back a bit more. An interesting walk through of how you can pocket a tidy sum on benefits as well. Interesting stat in the box of your Mail quote there: Since Oct 2012 (just over a year ago), 818,000 people have had their benefits sanctioned. As unemployment has been about 2.5m, does that mean that on average 1 in 3 of the unemployed are lazy, scrounging frauds (and that's just the ones who are caught, apparently)? I agree that some do fit that description, but 1 in 3?!? If so, what were they doing before the financial crash, when unemployment was much lower and why have they suddenly changed from people in employment to lazy, fraudulent benefits scroungers? Do you have any evidence of this mass transformation of reliable workers into idle scroungers? Some Tory was on TV earlier spouting that sanctions "aren't and shouldn't be the first response" or words to that effect. I've bored on about this before, so will keep it brief: my nephew, who's been in F/T employment for most of the past 6-7 years and is desperate to get back to work, has had his benefits stopped twice in 4 months as a first response to, at the very worst, minor technical infringements. Never mind White Dee (who should have a proper medical assessment and be helped/vigorously encouraged to get back to work, if fit), do you have evidence of this sudden massive increase in benefits scrounging and of the reason for this?
