Derby match or old friend? An ethical dilemma

Football or friendship, which takes priority?

  1. 1. Without checking, an old friend with no interest in football has booked leave and a coach ticket to visit you, arriving on the day of LCFC v Derby. What do you do?

    • His fault for not checking. He can buy a £30 ticket or sit at home with your missus

    • As above, but be generous and offer to pay half the ticket price

    • Buy him a ticket - he'll enjoy the occasion

    • Take him to watch it at the pub and let someone else borrow your season ticket for a few quid

    • Take him to watch it at the pub and let someone else borrow your season ticket for free

    • Friendship matters more than football. Miss the match and go to a gig

    • Ask him to change his leave and travel plans to come a different weekend

When i was a kid we had a french friend coming over which coincided with the burnley match that would see us promoted. My parents bought him a ticket and he came to the match with us. My mum and myself left him in the stands with my dad and brother as we joined in with the jubilant pitch invasion after securing promotion. I think he enjoyed it. I'm saying buy him a ticket.

There's no option to leave his dismembered head attached to a sheep carcass with the words "call next time" smeared in excrement nearby?

arrange with the wife to keep him busy while you go to the football - sorted.

He is really coming down to see your missus. Go to the match and leave them both home alone. You have nothing to worry about.

You should have sent him to TBJS for the evening, now that would be am experience he would never forget

I have a feeling that I'm not going to sleep well tonight....thanks for those suggestions. The last one is undoubtedly the scariest of the lot.... I imagine TheBigJohnSteader as Frank, the Dennis Hopper character with the oxygen mask from the film "Blue Velvet".
