4 lovely looking stands, close to the pitch, good acoustics, a proper home end behind the goal.

What more do you want? Stewarding has nothing to do with the stadium, and neither do the fans in fact. The stadium itself is great.

I'll give you the close to the pitch, infact that is the worst thing about all modern stadia. When will someone build a stand on the edge of the pitch.

but I just dont get the anfield love in. Maybe it was an expectation from tales I'd heard but I would say i rate st james, ot, highbury and despite the fact it looks shit from most angles whl as grounds above anfield. But i suppose it's subjective.

I went in the Man United away end there a few years ago when Kuyt bagged a trick. Even though they gave United the run around that day, I couldn't hear the Kop at all. Add that to the fact you could barely see the Kop from no more than two thirds of the way up the stand and you've got yourself a massive let down.

 

Fair enough it was an early kick off, but the Sheffield, Tyne-Wear and South Wales derbies don't let that be an excuse. Anfield is a myth.

Would love to have seen the Kop back in the day. Looks impressive. Still think it's great now. The banners and flags are always good to see, even as an opposition fan.
